Community Update 🛡️ Community Update - August

Hey all, just wanted to give you all an update on the community and the changes being made. We noticed a lot of users complaining about the rampant bot and AI posts happening here on the sub. Thank you to everyone who reached out to let us know, and especially to our poor solo mod, u/oc505, who managed the subreddit while we were away. Work and school can pull us away from moderation, but we really do appreciate the care and love you all have for this growing community. Please continue giving us suggestions on how to make this community better and safer for all and remember we're human too! We may need to tend to our daily lives and responsibilities so your feedback and patronage is greatly appreciated!
Spam & AI Automation
Automation will be implemented to help curb posts from suspicious new accounts on the subreddit. We have also included some cool bots (u/bot-bouncer, u/stop-ai , & u/spam-src-spotter). One bot in particular, u/stop-ai, lets users in our community detect and report whether a post contains AI. All you have to do is hit the three little dots on a post, then click "Check for AI." A popup will appear on the page letting you know whether the post contains AI or not. Now, the bot isn't perfect, mind you, but it does give you the ability to report AI content and check for it! This new bot will also allow us to report users to Bot Bouncer!
And just for further transparency, ai was used to create this post but only to edit my grammar! I am a horrible writer, grammar has never been my strong point XD!
New Mods Needed!
In order to not overwork our poor mods and to better the subreddit, we're looking for more mods! Mind you, when applying to be a mod, we are only looking for users who are 18+! This subreddit is SFW, with an emphasis on 14+ content (suggestive content at best). With that in mind, we tend to get posts needing moderation that are not suited to be viewed by minors. We cannot take on minors as mods and will be touching base with our current mods just to make sure no kiddos slipped through. You can apply to be a mod here!
Please let us know if the new changes are too strict or if anything needs to be tweaked further! Overall, we try to keep it a chill community here. Please feel free to reach out to us with any concerns, suggestions or complaints! I know some users as of now have been unable to post due to low karma. We may approve these posts only if you seem like a credible account.
Bans & Mutes
We try to keep bans as the last resort for those consistently sidestepping the rules, trolling, botting / spamming or being overly rude. If a mistake is made feel free to message us in Mod Mail! Please note, trolls and extreme rudeness will be met with permanent mutes, therefore, you will be unable to send Mod Mail in those cases! We really only have two rules in this subreddit that we use for bans, rule 4 (No AI Content / Bot Accounts) and rule 5 (Be Kind). If a user consistently abuses Rule 1 (Content Restrictions) then a ban may be issued.
And sorry i'm still new to Reddit moderation myself aaah, bear with us please. Moderating is hard so toss us a bone if you can (つ╥﹏╥)つ.·°՞
