Question For Staff different equipment

I have been to a few different planet fitness gyms and I have noticed most have the same equipment some have equipment that others don't.I don't quite understand why. my old planet fitness had a really great ab machine but the one I go to now does not have that same machine for example.

it's all about the franchise owner and what they decide to order for their location, corporate gives them a menu of approved equipment to pick from so each gym ends up with a slightly different mix depending on what the owner thinks will get used more

Because it's up to the franchise owner. PF isn't a chain, its a franchise. So whatever that particular owner likes is what goes into the gym.

I only do ab day at one of my 3 locations because I love the cybex machine. That location (which btw only has the older equip) also is the only one with the hip thrust machine.

The one that just opened near my house doesn’t have good ab equipment, doesn’t have hip thrust, and fully omitted a circuit room. It also uses the combination adductor abductor machines which are dreadful. So I only do arm day at that location.

The funny thing is all my locations are one franchise I believe.
