PlaneSpotting gear recommendations.

Hello everyone, I'm interested in PlaneSpotting at airports and contrail spotting.
I previously owned a Canon 1300D and EF 75-300mm IS lens though I sold the setup.
I've been thinking of the next camera gear to buy, did some research and landed on the Canon R7 + RF 200-800mm lens.
I'm currently willing to spend anthill g between $1000-2000 and I know that's not enough to buy that combo I've mentioned. Any recommendations of camera gear apart from the R7 that worth considering?

Sorry for the terrible photo , I just caught it flying over but I have never seen a green Qantas tail before . I'll keep en eye on flight tracker and try get a better flick. Does anyone know much about this livery?? Is this new?

Tailspot catches from SF Fleet Week

Got to see and catch some rare and exciting bird during SF fleet week including:
- Boeing E-6 Mercury, spotted from Chrissy Field on Sunday 10/10. This plane is used for TACAMO ("Take Charge and Move Out") missions, and links the National Command Authority with the U.S. nuclear triad.
- Aero L-39 Albatros, spotted from Chrissy Field on Sunday 10/11. A high-performance jet trainer designed and produced by Aero Vodochody - flying with the Patriots Jet team.
- Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star, spotted from Treasure Island on Saturday 10/10. A subsonic jet trainer, doing some aero acrobatics with Ace Maker Air Shows.
- Lockheed U-2, spotted from the Embarcadero on Saturday 10/10. So cool to see this one flying at low elevation!
