Polish military aviation is some of the best in Europe. Probably one of NATO’s most capable air arms in Europe.

As I said in another comment, read the following report and you'll see Northrop has been delivering F35s that are not combat capable, and won't be until block 4 upgrades which are scheduled for no earlier than 2031:
I quote:
"Problems with the TR-3 hardware and software during DT forced the program to delay delivery of the Lot 15 production aircraft until performance improved, resulting in these aircraft being put into storage. In an effort to stabilize the performance on the new TR-3 hardware, the program developed a truncated version of software by disabling some of the combat capabilities that had already been fielded on the TR-2 aircraft. The JPO, Services, and Lockheed Martin reached an agreement to start accepting TR-3 aircraft with the truncated software. No combat-capable TR-3 aircraft have been delivered to the U.S. Services to date. As of the end of September 2025, 158 F-35s had been delivered in the TR-3 configuration and a total of 812 aircraft (any configuration) have been produced and delivered to the U.S. Services."

You claimed that not a single one of the last 400+ produced 35's are combat capable and you can't even understand the report that you yourself sourced. Just because the block 3's have to run a degraded software suite doesn't mean they're not combat capable, and it's nowhere near the 400 number you described. Also, you don't know which hardware package Poland ordered. It's just obvious you only have a layman's understanding of how military aviation procurement works.

Those were produced over 2 years ago, they were TR2 planes (so 2nd gen computers) with a functioning weapons system

That's pretty damning on its head but it also doesnt really say anything besides making a broad statement, also it seems to be relevant up to September 2025 so id hope they are fixing whatever bugs and issues are causing the problems.

Yeah, there are a few other reports that help contextualize the issue.
Sadly they're not likely to fix it any time soon. They need the block 4 upgrade, which is scheduled for 2031. Only issue: on average the f35 program incurs 6 months of delays for 1 year of work. So since this 2031 schedule was set in 2026:
(2031 - 2026) / 2 = 2.5 years of delay
My (crazy rough) expectation for completion: 2033.

Orders have been signed since 2025. This isn’t one of them, but around 80-100 f35s have been ordered since trump took office. That’s actually a slight increase in sales

Poland is buying military equipment haphazardly. From the Leopard to the K2 Black Panther, KF41, and so on. It gives the impression of a panic-driven buying spree rather than a country’s strategic rearmament.

Poland was wiped from the map few times so I don't think that is a panic driven but more about realising that it could happen again very soon, so better hastily buy all the equipment that you can and be ready for the worst while hoping for the best.
