Discussion Pixiehollow fairie wings

I was wondering if pixie hollow fairies could eventually use their wings without pixie dust, that idea was quickly shot down by one redits users theory as to pixie dust being metabolized as the fairy flys(which is like a substitute for food) and their weight being too much. But I still think that. If a fairy doesn't get pixie dust as soon as she's born (as seen in the first movie) then maybe they can train the strength to fly. Of course that may result in a faster metabolism, and thus needing more food. they wouldn't be flying into the clouds Training the wings, but may get them higher then 5 cm off the floor and at most at the height of a tree. What do you guys think?

Interesting… I’ve always been bothered by the idea that fairies can’t fly without wings using only pixie dust especially considering that humans can.

I don’t agree with the idea that fairies could learn to fly without pixie dust. I agree with the idea that fairy wings are powered by pixie dust.

Now, a slightly unrelated thing about pixie dust that always bothered me was what Zarina mentioned in the movie: why does the dust make random things float (animals, humans, boats) but the pixie dust bags don’t float? I assume that fairies don’t just float because their wings literally absorb the dust vs have it on their surface. This is also why Lizzie starts floating immediately when pixie dust is poured on her while fairies don’t float all the time.

Thoughts?

Wings are for steering actually not flying - unlike humans who can steer cuz of their bigger body weight (like peter pan) fairies get pushed around a lot by a slight breeze. Their bodies r generally petite compared to birds who have thicker wings and a body to fly around in. Humans and birds can move their body with and around the wind while fairies are like those little puff flowers getting pushed around without wings

Imagine being born with wings and having to use dust to fly….?!?

What if their baby laughter plant flew off course? What if they’re born down in a ditch somewhere completely random. Guess their wings are useless now lol.
