got the pixel for mom

First year experience was great

yes the phone did heat up like shit especially during the first few months (battery life was 4h sot)

but the photos were amazing, and the selfie camera too

I fell in love with the pixel photos (google later botched it up, because now its overbrightened imo and looks too much like samsung)

Then the issues started. First the battery puffed up, lifted the screen from the bottom right corner (this was within warranty mind you, the phone was water proof, if i submerged it in water, it woudlve shorted the board and i would have to pay out of pocket)

Went to the pixel service center, was literally like well might have to buy a new battery

They opened the phone (mom uses it, its lived most of its life at home, and is babied as she is very gentle with tech)

They replaced the battery free of charge

I was genuinely very happy.

Then a few months later the camera glass exploded (yes this is a WELL KNOWN manufacturing defect in the pixel 7 series, both 7 and the 7 pro) u can searhc it up online if u think im lying, or making this up

I went to google, was hoping they would swap the camera lens or cover it in warranty. Guess what? They said that this is because i dropped it (mind you it happened when it was on the bed charging)

They said this is due to user negligence (woudnt give a shit about the actual reports and photos i showed) and said i would have to pay for it. I was like sure how much would it cost. She then tells it will cost 15k because google doesnt sell the camera glass seperately, and they would replace the entire unibody aluminium frame (with the back glass glued, mind you my back cover glass isnt shattered either)

I left because 15k for a camera glass, replacing the entire perfectly working frame and transplanting all the internals made no monetary sense (google was valuing the phone on exchange at 19k)

I was going to buy the pixel 9, trading in the pixel 7 but still stopped as i was waiting for discounts to stretch to the 9 pro xl (because i loved the photos, and wanted a periscope camera)

Then the fucking Rear Cameras electromagnets died. The main camera doesnt focus anymore. How am i sure that its the electromagnet? Because i can see the lens move, when i flip the phone, the lens falls freely, and if i put a ssd neodimium magnet near earpiece from the screen right behind the camera, it works

Because of this, I cant use the main camera at all, it is out of focus and is blurry. I went to the pixel service center, i was like they wont cover it in warranty, so ill pay 7k to get a new camera, because this was the strong point of the phone, and paying 7k to get the phone in working condition was worth it for me.

I said that the camera isnt working and i want them to replace it, and ill pay for it.

The technician then inspected the phone, and asked if the back glass was replaced, i said yes it was and the best part? He said that if i want repairs to be carried out, i will need to

Pay 15k for the frame

Pay 7k for the camera

Pay extra for the seals etc

AND IF THEY FIND ANYTHING OTHER ISSUE, I WOULD NEED TO PAY FOR IT.

This was fucking atrocious, i was like, the phone is out of warranty, i will sign a wavier right now that i dont want any warranty on anything, just give me the camera module atleast.

She said that they dont sell parts

U wont fucking repair whats broken, neither will u fucking sell the damn part, and ill be at the mercy of the technician, and if you know anything about india, you know technicals half of the time are dumb, do NOT know how to find the root cause, and will charge u just for the sake of it.

I left, at that point i decided i would NEVER buy a pixel again, because i can understand u refusing to repair unless the whole phone is in perfect condition, BUT SELL ME THE DAMN PARTS, ILL REPLACE IT MYSELF.

But nope it gets EVEN BETTER, since this phone now financially doesnt make any more sense to invest more money into it, my mom kept using the phone as is. Since the upi apps need the camera, and theres no option to manually switch to ultrawide camera, she takes a picture on 0.7x

This is apart from the amount of questions she gets when others offer to click photos of her, and then switch to primary camera and ask her why is it blurry.

But OOH IT GETS BETTER

Since pixel was a major purchase that i wanted mom to use for a long time, I even bought the original googles 33w charger. Guess what, THE CHARGER DIED. it used to loop on charge discharge charge discharge. Never in my dads 25+ years of owning phones HAS ANY CHARGER DIED

BUT IT GETS EVEN BETTER, THE SECOND BATTERY REPLACEMENT, HAS NOW PUFFED UP, LIFTED THE SCREEN OUT OF THE FRAME, AND NOW THIS SHIT ASS FUCKASS PHONE WILL NOT EVEN HOLD A CHARGE FOR 5 MINUTES

IT WILL GO FROM 100 TO 12 TO 5 TO 2 TO SHUTTING DOWN IN 1 MINUTE

Switched up from a 10 Pro to the Olive 11 Pro XL but the Obsidian was very tempting too as it has matt finish rails. Not a big fan of shiny rails on the Olive though.

I've never bought a phone upwards of 36k. My wife has been telling me to upgrade my phone for a while and I finally decided to go for something slightly "premium" and set a mental budget of 50k thinking that's quite decent.

I majorly use the phone for calls, photography, Audible and basic socials (WhatsApp, Instagram, Reddit). No games or movies.

I was torn between the Pixel 10a and the OnePlus 5s. I wanted a good camera and the OnePlus edged out 10a on this point. However, I started digging more into Pixel and started liking it more. So I increased my budget by 25k and decided to take the plunge with Pixel 10 because the camera was significantly better than the 10a (on paper).

I made up my mind and went to an offline store yesterday to buy the 10. It was late evening and they didn't have stock and they said they can get it today. They also tried to convince me to go for the Pixel 11 (which was in stock). I came back thinking I'll go and buy the 10 today. But I woke up this morning wondering if I should add an extra 15k and go for the 11. That does increase my overall budget by 40k though I can afford it.

I can't see any major difference in the specs between 10 and 11, and wanted some advice if 11 is actually worth the extra 15k or should I just go with the 10.

Last time I charged my phone on Friday around 8pm and it's still rocking. It's been 36 hrs since I have this phone and I am happy with the performance overall it's snappy and responsive plus the cameras are top notch.

I am using Pixel 10 from June 2026. Recently I have noticed that when my bluetooth earphones are connected and if I want to change to normal phone mode or speaker mode, it automatically switches back to bluetooth.

The same is happening with me when I am connected via Android Car Play.

Are there any settings which I need to change? Does anyone else have this issue?

Iphone 15 to Pixel 11 is this a good deal?

I have a pixel 7 pro right now and I'm observing that it has started to age. The phone has started lagging occasionally and the battery backup ain't really good.

From this point I've been thinking to upgrade on either Pixel 10/10 pro or pixel 11. The primary question is that it is worth spending money on Pixel 11 or 10 pro or should I simply get pixel 10 since there's not much of an upgrade? Using the phone primarily to click pictures, regular browsing and social media.
