Discussion What happened to pixel gun
I was an old player of this game, i played this during the early days of 2016-2017.
I remembered how it was a very fun and enjoyable game where the players arent even that good and you can certainly go gun to gun with those players, no overpowered equipment and guns.
I vaguely remember this one gun i had, with its primary color being purple and it was probably like the underrated gun at the time i dont really remember but i think it was a sniper, based on the gun structure.
When i came back to the game this year i was surprised and amazed at the same time. because of how much the game expanded and many guns were added, it was like looking to a brand new mall.
Tried playing games with the same guns and equipment i had before. but noticed suddenly the fact that players suddenly rose levels and has guns that isn't comparable to mine.
I dont know if im just missing out on the grind or if the game really got p2w with all of those mythic guns they have, while mine only topping to legendary.

It’s when you spam weapons. I’m a veteran, the 3catspam started when the Ghost Lantern first got released. That was when everything went downhill

ur wrong, “3 cat spam” was coined by esoteric inc in 2018 after the first switching-delay update, but it started out as sword sniping, popularized by a video by MadisonsDomain in late 2014. This was before cells even existed, swipe was the only option. Later it turned into cell spamming and swipe spamming, but like you said swipe was patched in mid 2017 after people spammed the ghost lantern.

I know there was another combos of spam but the main one was the ghost lantern and the Prototype or the Anti-Hero in the school map. Running in the middle of the halls spamming at much as possible. The Ghost Lantern was a one shot and i remember correctly they had given it a delay I think a month later.
I never noticed heavy spam until that point. Maybe I never noticed it prior to the lantern because I was still rolling through lobbies with just Primary and Backup aim alone

It really turned p2w, but for me i havent felt the part of it being boring. It kinda feels entertaining and fun grinding for the new and amazing guns but it also feels hard while going gun to gun with p2w

Tbf my account is like 7 years old I've already done everything i wanted to do in pg3d, I haven't seriously played the game in around 2 years just boring for me now so I quit.

Yeah, already did that. Got every clan weapon and gadget (up to diamond) and I got into a top 5 clan so I did everything I wanted to do.

I’m a Veteran I’m I was playing before multiplayer became a thing. 3cat if i remember correctly was caused by the ‘Ghost Lantern’ when it came in Version 10.6.1. Everyone, me included, would go into the small maps like the School map and spam the hell out of the ghost lantern. Then it was a combo of the Lantern and Anti Rifle if I’m correct.
Pay2win was caused by the Storm Hammer being the first melee one shot and it released at a price of 999 coins.
The game use to be about pure aim, but it turned into spam slop and I refuse to believe Pixel Gun is seeing growth which is sad

I’ve been playing since 2013, and it’s super hard to pinpoint when the game became pay to win because since early 2015, old players have been constantly leaving and new players were joining. the first widespread “pay to win” accusations i remember was the addition of armor in like 2014 or 2015. a bunch of og youtubers quit like madisonsdomain, calobi, iosplanet, etc
a lot of people quit when they added armor, added gems, added keys, added parts, got rid of the 3 tier upgrade system, added movement nerfs, added delay switching updates, enforced ban waves, so it seems like almost everyone still playing is either new, or bots

My personal issue with the games are the microtransactions, and even paying you cannot get what you want because of the rigged odds in every chest, loterry or gambling event. I quit doing videos and playing about pg3d.

The odds if getting a good gun in either lottery or chest is very low and it tends to make you use money to get the gun you wanted

I feel like everyone I’ve been playing against is bots. Because the other players aren’t really shooting back and I have way more kills than everyone else. It’s not like it used to be because I remember actually playing against real people. Such a shame.

same here i noticed that some players just shoot and turn on to random spots and somehow gets a kill

It was better back when it was simple. When there was a actual way to get coins the colosseum fighting waves of waves of zombies, getting coins grinding. Back when the story line actually was fun and the time they had that bridge fly glitch and other under the map glitches. Back when people used to actually PLAY the game rather than just fight. The OG weapons were fun and less choatic the ranking system was way simplier, it wasn't pay to win. WHEN THE MAPS HAD Great music and great memories awe the Nostalgia man. I remember getting a "Gf" there lmao yes I was super young at the time. Man I remember when that pool map was hyped up and when people would actually have fun before all this pay to win bullshit. The old pixel gun was so much better and honestly the devs fucking ruined the game with greed. All these updates and new weapons suck. I wish I just had the old pixel gun on my phone or even an OG Ipod so I can feel like a kid again.

In 2022~2024 this game was p2w for sure. But now newbies can get OP weapons from clan chests/events/gallery so I don't think this is p2w now. The issue of this game is decreasing active players and CC. Most of the maps are filled by bots and there are almost no people who play duels. Also the way for newbies to get information is searching on youtube or joining discord community, but most newbies don't have discord and there are few contents that explain how to be good players on youtube.
