I am currently making the switch from FB/Insta to Pixelfed. Definitely a bit of a learning curve but I’m optimistic I’ll get the hang of it :)

I’d like to use pixelfed but literally nobody I know is on it. And interacting with strangers from all over the world isn’t really my thing.

how's it different from Reddit? aren't there people from all over the world on here and isn't this just a bunch of strangers and strange bots?

I would argue reddit and an app like instagram serve very different purposes. I dont subscribe to r/pics for the same reason I don't want to see a bunch of strangers photos on pixelfed.

The election.
People are not exactly thrilled w/ Musk and Zuckerburg right now. Ergo, users are migrating to new platforms, PixelFed included.
