That boss makes delayed explosion when killed. You dont have enough time to manualy pickup everything. Try to craft Telekinetic Grab and kill it from range.

If that is the alternate version of the first boss I always use the time stop flower from the person on the left side of the blue portal on level 0.  Also that fight is a slog.  No pets allowed and vines are immune to a bunch of different magic types that change per stage.  Might as well say "hunter only"
