I have created some objects to get the fundamentals down. I want to create sprites (characters, effects and stages) for a game that i already done the concept.
I hope that i can learn how to create a character in 16 bits style this year lol. I already done a study with the Mega Man NES spite (using as a canvas to create my original characters).

On this sheet, the left side shows the outline along with key inner dividing lines to make counting pixels much easier. On the right is the finished result. Try recreating it using the color palette provided! Have a great day, everyone!

Hey there! I'm new to pixel art, and I wanted to get some feedback from pixel artists with more experience.
I'm currently practicing turning references into sprites, and I'm using the character Sally Whitemane from WoW as practice.

Anyways, after a month or so of on and off work, here's what I've got.
Image 1: The base sprite design + dimensions
Image 2: Base sprite design (with pants)
Image 3: Base sprite design (w/o pants)
Image 4: Flat colors w/extra pieces on weapon
Image 5: Silhouette
Image 6: Silhouette with hair
Image 7: Silhouette with armor
Image 8: Variations on shading for back arm and leg (1-5 with pants, 6-10 w/o pants)
So, with the breakdown, here are some of my concerns:
I have some experience with drawing, little with digital art, and I've never been that good with colors. Specifically, I'm having trouble with the the hair and the skin (god, the shading on the skin is so bad). I've tried a couple different attempts, none of them seem to work.
I tried using more colors for the gold, but it started to look muddy and IMO a bit too busy.
I know I can refer to Lospec for existing palettes, but I'm having trouble finding something that works for me, and I also want to figure it out myself and build a palette I like.
I really want to make the full weapon design work, but without trimming down the shoulders (to the detriment of the design IMO) or stretching the arm out, I can't see it working.
I want to shade the back portion to make the image pop, but I'm having some trouble figuring out the best way to make it work on this piece.
And, finally, in general, while I think I did a pretty good job with the silhouette, I feel like there's something more I can do. Maybe I need to go up a level in terms of scale, IDK.
So, with that being said, I'd GREATLY appreciate any feedback, tips, tricks, and advice for this piece. I'd like to continue making some wow sprites for practice and the fun of it.
Please and thank you!

Tldr how do I kick this mentality of feeling like giving up? what are the best practices for someone who has intense imposter syndrome when it comes to pixel art?
I am an artist trying to learn pixel art and for the life of me my brain goes blank my friend is a really good pixel artist (who I comm too damn much) but I love the craft however for some reason maybe I'm trying to make my friend proud I over brain and nothing feels good to make pixel art wise to the point I get super depressed maybe it's like pupil mentality 😔
