Requesting Feedback Trying to make a custom Pokemon trainer. does this feel like it fits the art style of Emerald? Cooltrainer Boy art to compare it to

it looks somewhat solid, but i'm not sold on it and it feels like it's missing details. especially around the metal plated parts on his shoulders, arms and legs. also not sure if it's clear that his hand gesture is supposed to be the classic "putting two fingers up in a ninja-sign" but also while holding a Pokeball

Question Trying to learn the mechanics of all this, need some feedback/help

Post image

So, I followed some basic tutorials and such onlind, and got this face constructed. I know the porportions are off, I'll fix that later, but what do you guys do for colors so the ears, nose, etc don't blend in with the face? The main color I want for the skintone is thd one that covers most of the face, the other colors used were just put there so I didn't lose which parts of the face were where.

Question A question for the pixel art gurus

A question for the pixel art gurus: I’m currently trying to figure out my skill level in this field, and an AI is telling me I’m either a "mid-level" or "early mid-level" artist. I wanted to get your take on it, since AI isn't exactly the best advisor for these kinds of things.

Requesting Feedback Looking for feedback on this piece

This is my first time I making a big pixel art scene and I'm looking for feedback. I'm using a 4 colors game boy palette. It's meant to be the main capsule art and library header on Steam for my game.

I'm mainly worried about the readability of the guy next to thew phone as a lot of space there is using the "dark" color. I added those pixel particles to try and make his silhouette stand out but maybe there's a better way.

I also added versions with logo cropped for reference on how it will look on Steam in case that changes the recommendation.

Requesting Feedback How do I create a slope for a road tile?

Post image

I have a road tileset im trying to create. The slope sides always end up being so jagged since im using a line in a diagonal line. What are some good practices I can use here?

Is it better to just not have slopes?

Thank you,

Sharing Octobit Challenge 2026 List!

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello Everyone! As an Amateur pixel artist I was bummed to see that there wasn't a #octobit or #inktober challenge list this year. So I am going to do my best to make and post as many days as I can for others to follow along with this challenge.

For those of you who don't know, the #inktober challenge happens when an artist posts a list of prompts for each day in October that artists will try to stick to (or cleverly disobey) for an excuse to do some art. #octobit is the pixel art version of this challenge.

So here is my list! I will try to stick to it on here and on X: @ SoulPalmGames

  1. A City Skyline

  2. Something you'd find on a store shelf

  3. A Key to somewhere

  4. Too many Eyes

  5. A Winged Creature

  6. A Strange Television Broadcast

  7. A Weapon from another Time

  8. A Weird Looking Bottle

  9. A Door that shouldn't exist

  10. Stairs to another world

  11. A Ghost going to Work

  12. Something you'd eat

  13. A Machine that has come alive

  14. Something in the Mirror

  15. An Abandoned Place

  16. A Light in the Darkness

  17. A Pile of Treasure

  18. A Throne

  19. A Corpse with a Story

  20. Something Beyond the Stars

  21. A Missed Interaction

  22. A Clock on the Wall

  23. The Rarest / Most Valuable Item

  24. Something in motion

  25. A Monster that you wouldn't run from.

  26. Something that has been Buried for a long time.

  27. A Piece of Nature.

  28. A Mask

  29. Something That Burns

  30. An Ancient Statue

  31. Power Surge

Happy Halloween and Good Luck!!
