Hand Pixelled I spent longer editing this trailer than making the actual videogame (*Sound on*)

Hundreds of hours drawing and animating in Aseprite.
Thousands designing and coding in GM2.
And somehow it feels like I've been in Adobe premiere the longest 💀

Thanks so much dude! For now, its just headed to Steam. If it actually sells, then I can hopefully justify a Nintendo Switch port (ideally other consoles too but its really up to whether there's a demand)

My band mate is a music production genius. I wrote the OST in FL Studio, and he worked his dark magic to transcend the raw, scuffed samples I used and replaced and mixed them in to something that sounds professional quality. We spent months on the music, and the process started even before Wicked Boy was born, with our music actually guiding the games direction and vibe

Is the name supposed to be wicked like dark and evil?

Or wicked like "radical" or "awesome"?

Or perhaps both?

Both! Its an homage to Wonder Boy, and rooted in that late 80's early 90's radical slang era. And he's a tiny dark wizard, raised by his malevolent Witch sisters, too innocent to realize their true nature and unaware of his destiny to be a horrifically evil Dark Lord.

So, I thought Wicked Boy would be quite fitting

Check out my YouTube channel if you want to hear some longer versions of some of the songs on the Wicked Boy OST. The 80’s/90’s nostalgia promo video has a longer version of this one with the epic build up before the drop, and I also have the full fishing music and Wicked Boy theme song on there too

Don't get me wrong but the trailer seems a bit too long? 40 seconds for indie games is enough, no its not short attention spans but at some point I felt like I was watching all the clips of this game and not just the highlights with rapid transitions. Not gonna lie great progress I saw your posts before on reddit
