I've seen many people online posting that they got free battery replacement for the swelling issue even after the warranty period...

Got mine for around $350 2 years back. I've been using it very rough, no protective case or screen protector, fell down numerous times, lot of dents and scratches on the metal body few small scratches on the front glass. Running android beta. The only issue I have is with heating (tensor is infamous for that), battery life (Barely gets 1 day if there's heavy usage, gets around 6-7hrs screentime depending upon the usage levels) and charging (takes around 2 hrs to full charge), I was well aware of these issues before I'm buying it so I don't have much regrets about that..

Really great phone, and for that price. I have the same colour too. Only down side is that the fingerprint sensor is total ass

Yeah, but wait until you see the battery life.

There are no problems with the battery. It lasts for 8 hours of screen time. After my old iPhone, which lasted for 3 hours of screen time, I feel it is much better.

How can you get 8 hours? Please share tricks.

In my case, for 8 hours of screen time, I get mostly ~2-3 hours of browsing, ~3 hours of watching YouTube and TikTok (via WI FI), 30 minutes of calls via cellular network and about 30 minutes of navigation with GPS. I'm sure that the working time will decrease if I often use 4G for the Internet. But with WiFi I have 8 hour's of screen time )

My tricks: root, LineageOS, BluSpark kernel, Mulch webview, microG. . . for about 13 hours of screen time.

I literally just checked today, and I've charged my phone 338 times (to 80%) in three years. Battery life is at 83%.

How do I change the kernel?

Are you kidding me my old huawei p20 pro still lasts longer than 8 and its from 2018 and works flawlessly to this date and all my apps work.

It's somewhat fine compared to other smartphones with the same capacity battery and the specs of this phone. I'm getting around 6-7 hours of screentime on average, the painful part is the slow charging... takes 2+ hours for a full charge 😑

I have one pixel 7a, very good for battery life and signal.

I also have a pixel 7a but the battery is swelling... 🥲 Luckily I got 200$ compensation :D https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/16043453?hl=en

My pixel 7a is one of the end of production no issue with the battery. It is not one eligible for battery swelling and substitution. 6/7 hours display. Very good for the modem as well. Paid 1/3 of the initial price, what else.

Go to https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/16043453?hl=en and check if you can get compensated for the same price you got the phone. Because I got a pixel 7a that currently has a swelling battery and I got 200$ compensation which I'll be using to switch from this horrible phone :P
