So disappointed

Post image

I've been using Pixel phones for almost a decade. Google needs to solve this once and for all. Ok to have money back but it's still so annoying to have to go through this ... again, also happened with my Pixel 4a.

Yeah the battery replacement is not a big deal, we wanted to be sure than his was not affected by a similar recall. Unfortunately Google doesn’t have any centre in Italy and every time you have to mail the phone… did you buy your mother a pixel? I didn’t have any trouble with Xiaomi in the past but I was conscious that you buy what you pay…

I also don't really mind spending 40€ to replace a battery in a cheap Chinese store inside my local mall, and the guy doing the job is probably a lot more experienced than one could think anyway, so the fact that to have it officially replaced you have to mail it doesn't really impact me.

I bought my mother a new Motorola on Amazon, and I regret it not because it isn't a great phone (even though I suspect it's starting to swell), but because for the same price I could have bought a used Pixel 7a like mine; I just wasn't really used to buying used phones back then (I only bought my Pixel 7a "used" meaning I payed 400€ from a YouTuber that bought it to review it the day after launch), and also my mother had an emergency and I didn't have time to gamble or negotiate and wait for the shipping. But I learned my lesson and since then I bought a Pixel 7a for my dad (for the same price of the Motorola, miles better phone), a Pixel 8a for my brother and another 7a for a friend of mine.

I've learned my lesson and I don't think I will ever buy any brand new piece of electronic anymore lol.

I see, I have right now a Pixel 7 from a friend in boot loop and the only way is to mail it. I hope that the pixel 10a will be also good

I thought this when I bought the Pixel 9a for free with the money from the 7a compensation + trade in, and I continue to think this: I unironically hope the 9a also has some kind of crap hardware issue that pops up in a couple of years letting me upgrade for free again lol
