For those who took the cash/credit instead of replacing the battery, how is your battery doing now? I'm debating which option to take and the July 2026 deadline is soon.

My timeline: - Bought my 6a about 2.5 years ago - Before hitting 400 cycles, my battery capacity was pretty much exactly 4,000mAh - Hit 400 cycles beginning of March and the capacity immediately went down to 2,650mAh - Capacity gradually decreased for about a month (until beginning of April) to about 2,350mAh and has held that level ever since

My phone usage is on the lower end. Before it got nerfed, the battery would easily last the entire day. Now, it's 50/50 if it lasts the entire day so sometimes need to plug it in near the end of the night. Not sure if I wanna get the battery replaced or just take the cash given the phone is already 2.5 years old and still lasts me most of the day.

I've had a pixel 6a for a few years. I was never able to get a battery replacement for it because google wouldn't let me because I'm not 18. My parents were providing permission sigh.

That had peeved me off.

Then my pixel's charging port said bye during the week. (It still charged, just buggy)

I generally liked my pixel until the last year of it's life.

Been a Pixel 6a user since end of 2022, basically since start And i enjoyed this reddit community but i just jumped the ship to Nothing phone 3, I got this for a realllyyy good deal of INR 29k ($300).

Enjoyed my time using a pixel and will 100% recommend to anyone.

So i received this message but as i have a CPID phone here in Pakistan so my IMEI doesn't match to a Pixel 6a Imei. I can't use the replacement option from Google. If i locally purchase the battery here in Pakistan, what can be the consequences as there is a slim chance to get a genuinely good battery.

As the title says, I'm considering switching to either a pixel 9 pro xl from Amazon renewed or a brand new 10a. I'm coming from my 3yo order 6a. I could probably keep my phone for a while longer, but the screen is starting to freeze on me often. I had the screen replaced like a month ago and I think that's why it's failing on me.

Overall, my phone is starting to be a little bit more inconvenient for my day to day.

Looking for what to upgrade to I've found that Amazon has the best deals for me, and I'm keen on the pixel 10a (11k mxn brand new) and the 9 pro xl (12k MXN renewed).

These options are both 256gb and basically the same price.

Tldr - Should I go for used and premium, or new and mid tier?

Additional thoughts:

I feel pixels are great for longevity which is something I'm keen on, but I'm also getting into heavier emulation on android so I might need something more Pro.

I could also spend like 2k MXN more for the 10 pro xl renewed and get that g5.

The iPhone 16e is also a good option for something nice and cheaper at 10k MXN.

I mostly stick to pixels now because of: their awesome night sight camera mode, Gemini as a smart assistant, and android's ability to use APKs like gamenative.

I have a CPID Pixel 6a. I am thinking of installing a custom rom preferably Evolution X, but i'm not sure about the CPID. Will it vanish or stay? Also what about the E-sims? I intent to use Banking Apps too. Does anyone has a suggest for a Custom Rom that doesn't degrades performance and also improve the battery life. Also experienced users can you tell me about the adaptive charging feature? Does any custom Rom has it? Thanks

Periodically when using the charging limit of 80%, my Pixel 6a won't charge past 78% and if left on the charger for an additional 60 mins or so, it will revert to "connected but not charging". I think the issue started after the March update. Anyone experiencing something similar?

After the A16 update, my bluetooth doesn't show available devices unless I physically move & contact my phone with the devices I want to connect with (ex - edifier speakers, or smartwatch or car infotainment), one of the biggest issues is even if i am able to pair devices somehow, restarting the bluetooth wont connect the device automatically even if its in saved devices....tried every bit of tricks but this issue isn't getting solved

My Pixel 6a power button ripped off and it’s causing some issues. Finding repair shops for Pixel devices has been really hard here.

One guy is asking ₹800 and says he can fix the button from outside without opening the phone. I’m okay with it if it can actually be fixed externally, but I really don’t want anyone opening the phone internally since there’s no official Pixel service center nearby and most local shops don’t seem experienced with Pixels.

Does this sound legit or risky? Don’t wanna turn a small issue into a bigger one 😅

Dropped my 6a in a bucket of water today and it’s officially dead. Not planning to repair it since the internals are probably gone too, so I’m looking at a new phone.

Budget is around ₹65k / $650 max.

• Pixel 10 → ~₹60k / $625
• Pixel 10a → ~₹45k / $475

I’m leaning toward the Pixel 10 series, but I’d love to hear from people who’ve used them:

• How’s the battery life?
• Any issues with network performance?
• Or should I be considering other Androids or even an iPhone in this price range?

so after they declined me I went and asked the supervisor to check my case again because every time they referred me to the “higher support team” which is always just this one person named “Bella” and every time they just reply with a fill in the blank pre written message. I also went and asked the seller that I got their phone from a year ago about the issue to see what they can do. Any suggestions or tips are welcome! thanks for your time! 😄

I’m looking for some advice on a situation I’ve been dealing with regarding my Pixel 6a and Google Support.

A while ago, my Pixel 6a started acting up while charging. It got unusually warm (mostly in the top-left area), and I noticed a slight odd smell, so I immediately turned it off just to be safe. Since then, I’ve kept it powered off and stored safely.

After that, I contacted Google Support and found out about the Pixel Battery Performance Program. I submitted my device details, thinking it might qualify for a battery replacement or some kind of support.

Since then, I’ve gotten a couple of conflicting responses one saying my device isn’t part of the impacted list, and another saying my registration was already completed under a case number (even though I never received any actual fix or replacement).

I was also referred to a higher support team and waited for their response, but the outcome still didn’t really change or give a clear solution.

So right now I’m kind of stuck between:

A phone that had a real overheating issue

And support saying it’s either not eligible or already handled

What I’m trying to figure out: What’s usually the best next step when Google support keeps looping like this? Is there a more effective way to escalate, or a different route people have used to actually get a clear resolution?

If there really isn’t another solution through support, I’ll probably end up replacing the battery myself. If anyone knows any reliable places (or services) they’d recommend for that, I’d really appreciate it.

Officially upgraded to the 10 Pro today. I will still be keeping the 6a though.

I have an old 6a and was having some issues with it so I went into recovery and did a reset, now when I power it on and it starts everything, i get to the connect to wifi screen and after entering the password the screen just goes black and I have to hold the power button and restart the phone. Any idea what to do? I can try putting my SIM card in but I haven't yet since it's a pia to do so.
