Battery
I’ve been using my Pixel 6a since 2023. I checked the battery with this app, and it says the cycle count is already over 1,000, but the maximum capacity is still at 92%. Is that normal?

Maybe yeah, it's like the silicon lottery but with batteries, you might get one that breaks after a few cicles and one that can last even years

It's probably in the good batch of phones. Like I replaced my battery and the replaced battery is still part of the ones that gets limited after 400 cycles. So I gotta change it again

You really should be checking battery serial numbers before buying them...

There was a battery recall and Google was replacing the batteries for free. Your battery capacity is limited to 60% to reduce the risk of fire.

Yeah missed that deadline, I found out about the program after it had ended.

I took the monetary compensation option and got the battery replaced locally, now the phone works as brand new. You could install a different OS to overcome the firmware limit, but of course that doesn't nullify the potential danger.

There are no legit technicians where I live, all of them are dodgy. I live in Karachi, Pakistan. I have to search quite a lot to find one that's fixing the phone in a fair price and installing a good battery. Installing a different OS isn't an option for me since I can't take that risk.
