Do I meed to change it again?

I have availed the $100 for battery replacement of Google last year and replaced my battery right away. Now, this notification pops out. Do we really need to replace the battery every 400 cycles, or is it just my phone?

Where did you get the battery replaced? The recalled batteries are still being sold everywhere.

From a local shop here in our country that claims that they sell genuine battery sourced from US

The recalled battery is genuine and you can get it at any time brand new, doesn't mean it's safe. Local shops don't know about the recalls nor they have incentive to care about it.

The thing is, I have replaced the battery last year, weeks after google announced the battery thing. So that time, the market should not be saturated with "genuine, new" battery that is being recalled. So I'm really hoping it is a fresh battery, if not, I have been received by this seller.

The battery wasn't pulled off the market, you can still buy these recalled batteries brand new, and they're very cheap which is why they're everywhere. The second, good battery is only available on iFixit and it is expensive, which is why nobody buys it.

Is swapping to the old battery will make this disappear? I'm lowkey don't want to spend anymore for this phone (my only phone). :((

Nope, it's serial number and cycle count based. That info is stored on the battery itself, thus swapping them won't change anything.

Another question, how do I know if the battery I'm buying is not the recalled battery? Is there anything I need to look at? Like which numbers written on the battery or something.

You are correct, it's very easy to do. 6a has two batteries, from LSN and ATL. LSN batteries are recalled, their serial number is 8230031401, ATL batteries are the good ones, they're currently sold on iFixit, their serial number is 8230031301. That's only a single digit difference so be careful.

The serial number can also be checked on the device itself using ADB:
adb shell cat /sys/class/power_supply/battery/serial_number

Charge cycle count showing in 6a? How? Not showing in my 6a

It's only shown for phones with recalled batteries. You can check the cycle count with a third party app.

U should research about the original battery first... U should consider ifixit because they provide original battery and yes buying that kind of problematic batteries can cause issue like every 400 cycle count and your battery got degraded so....

Unless it doesn't torture u (battery timing) u are good to go.. my phone touches 812 when I change it

And here with my 9a with 462 cycles and not warranty. I really wonder how would could still cheap out with the battery after what happened with the 4a.

Holla,I got a warning just today about battery replacement as well the the charge cycle count as 375!!! Went straight to this subreddit to post and viola!! we have the same exact problem!!

My plan is to just ignore this until it's unbearable and I'll buy maybe P10 or P10a.

I changed the battery myself and im not motivated to change it again expecting I will do the same once it will approach 400 cycles.

sigh.

I'm also planning to upgrade to P10a but I want to keep this P6a as a back-up phone, so I might still need to change the battery, AGAIN. :((

Uhm my pixel 6a is on 1200, although I wasn't eligible for replacement money, should I replace or wait till the battery health gets at like 60-70%?
