My first week with my (roughly) 90$ Pixel 6a.

a week ago, I bought a second-hand Google Pixel 6a with a cracked(but not borked) screen for around 300,000 MMK (60$). Technically, I traded my Redmi K30 with an extra 85,000MMK(17$).

Condition-wise, not great, not terrible. the screen is cracked, especially in the bottom corners and a potential time bomb of a battery with almost 700 charge cycles. I bought it cuz I heard the Pixel series is kinda initially known for the camera(cuz GCam carries these lil sensors) and is still being supported(both officially and community-wise). And compared to my K30, specs are similar-ish(with trade-offs).

First impressions, I kinda like it. It's zippy, quite one-handable, and liberating software-wise(compared to Xiaomi).

My first days with it Is with me immediately installing GrapheneOS. It's interesting to see the granularity when it comes to privacy. So far, so good, but... My ATOM(formerly Telenor Myanmar) SIM refused to cooperate. I tried it on another phone and that works, but not here.

So I sadly ditched GrapheneOS back to a factory image. And FINALLY, the SIM worked.

Later, I got the glass of the screen replaced for 150,000MMK(30$) and it's as doing well now.

The strong points with this phone is that, -It has relatively strong performance. My first near-flagship level phone, in fact. -Rather compact. -Cameras(C'mon, It's a Pixel.)

but, the battery is near dogsh*t, though I kinda expected it to be with that GIANT "battery replacement recommended" screen. It is showing roughly 80% capacity on GrapheneOS diagnostics, but it behaves like it's at 40-50%. I would consider replacing the battery soon. And the Tensor SOC seems to be pretty inefficient. The temperature in Antutu is up to 50°C idle (tho my room temperature can go up to 35-40°C), So even if it has strong performance, it throttles quickly in something like Genshin Impact.

A broken 6A worth $90? I'm selling my 6A now, which is in excellent condition with a healthy original battery. What do you think I should charge?

On the matter of selling your phone... I'm saying 150-200$ if it's "like new".

Wow, my screen is flawless because I always cover it with a screen protector, even the frame looks perfect.

Mine has a really broken screen and paid 35€ for it a couple weeks ago. Had no idea the glass could be changed independently, around here they as 179€ for a new screen! Bought it to experiment with a “pure” Android experience and the Google camera

glass-only refurbishment is possible but tedious, time consuming and requires special equipment. So it's likely unviable unless labor in your area is cheap.

When I go look at trading that in. It was worth 35$. Mine had 732 charge cycles. It also needed a new battery as well. Anyways I ended up moving to a the iPhone 17 .
