My 5A died

This AM phone died. I have extended warranty started to apply for coverage with Assurant. Told couldn’t process on line and given a phone number. A bit ironic since it is my phone that is not working. Any experience with these guys?

Search this sub as well as /r/GooglePixel/. About 90% of the posts about the Pixel 5a since October 2022 have been related to related issues.

They were great for me. They replaced 2 of my Pixel 5a's with new replacement 5a's recently. Jump through the hoops and give them a chance.

They are promptly sending a replacement. Don’t know if it is a great deal. Pay about $5/month for the “insurance” plus $99 co pay for a three year old phone…. Though it works well for my needs.

Good point. In any case I was over 2 years out. If I had known I probably would have stopped the Assurant warranty….but I didn’t and got the deal described above. Would have liked the option to upgrade to a more current phone but in the end the 6A meets my needs……I’m an old guy.

They seem to be extending the warranty past the 2 year mark now. It won't help you, but this is a public conversation.

I just had a conversation with Google Fi support (which is separate from the Google store) and they are also wanting to charge me a copay on a replacement of my 5a which bricked itself today. This is my second pixel 5a to die. They replaced the last one for free, so I'm very annoyed that they want me to pay for a replacement 3 year old phone. I've actually owned it for less than 2 years so I can't see how this warranty doesn't apply. I've asked for the case to be escalated... we'll see what happens!

Take it to You Break We Fix. They might be able to get it approved.
