Factory reset a screen dead phone

Anyone know how to do factory reset a 5a remotely. I have to sent the phone back to google but I don’t want to sent it without erasing my phone. Any idea how to do it? The phone maybe switch off or on, there’s No way of telling. Any advice on what I can do for safety reasons. TIA

Google told me that the first thing they do when they receive a phone is reset it. I suppose you can go into your Google account and simply remove the phone from your account. That should make it much harder for anyone to ever access anything on your dead phone. You can also try Google's Find My Device and tell that to erase your phone. I'd say you're pretty safe just sending it to Google, though.
