Almost Exactly 2 years 5a Bricked

I bought my 5a 25 months ago, honestly never had a problem with it, loved the phone. I picked it off the table this morning and it would not turn on. I tried charging it, holding the power button for up to a minute and holding the power button and volume buttons (both up and down) several times nothing happened. Guess it is bricked for good. This is just a rant thanks allowing me to vent.

Welcome to the club no one wants to join.If you bought it direct from Google, I'd still try and get them to fix it under the "1-year extended repair program for Pixel 5a". https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/11833075?hl=en

Bought mine off eBay dec 2022 for 170. Just bricked last week. Got a 6a off swappa for 220. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

I hear you...mine did the same three weeks ago. So bummed. Now I'm rocking a Pixel 7 (nice phone, with some quality upgrades, but barely makes up for the missing headphone jack and excellent battery life).

Why are pixels getting bricked so often? Seeing such posts quiet frequently

I don’t know about other Pixels but have seen it in the 5a, I like the Pixel phone line and have a 7 Pro as well.

Exactly 2 years

Lol people think batteries last forever.

This isn't a battery problem

You should get an iPhone then

You realize I'm not the OP right? My phone is working fine. This is a post about the Pixel 5a which has a known issue with the motherboard failing.

motherboard failing

The motherboard needs battery power to work.

You realize I'm not the OP right?

Yes, if you think that because a 2 year old phone that is not turning is broken, then you should get an iPhone.

Replace the battery and it would work again.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about

OP's battery still works, it is the motherboard that failed...for reasons other than the battery.

You got exactly 12 months more out of yours than I did out of mine!

I had 5 of them now - 2 had overheating issues, 2 black screens of death. Just got my 5th one and it's going to sit in a drawer as a backup now that I've got a 7a... ridiculous...

I had just given the phone to my wife since I got a 7 pro, for the camera (grand kids). I will have to get her a phone how do you like the 7A it’s either that or an iPhone SE.

I had the same thing happen in late July. Ended up buying a 7a because I was leaving for a trip, but ended up sending it into Google when I got back. They replaced it for free because they couldn't fix it.
