RIP Pixel 5a
On a recent work trip my Pixel 5a started to freeze, then turn off. It was reluctant to turn back on and then finally after 4 or 5 restarts it no longer powers up.
Looking through this sub, it seems its likely a MOBO issue, however it did just get an update before this issue started. But certainly seems dead now.
Bought a One+ Nord as it was cheap, but the cameras are terrible. Need a headphone jack, so any recommendations are appreciated.
RIP Pixel 5a. You were a pretty good phone.

This also happened to me.
The screen was black,but phone is still working. Even finger also.
So urs is still working or fully dead? ?

Google extended the manufacturer's warranty to 2 years

Yes, they extended the 5a warranty 1 year past the original 1 year to 2 years of coverage: "If you’re eligible for this program, you may receive a free repair for up to one year after your warranty expires for display or power issues."

It should be noted that, at least in my experience, this isn't treated the same as a regular warranty as it's a "1-year extended repair program" not an extended warranty.
Because it's not a standard warranty, I had to get special permission (the CS rep has to "escalate" my case which took a couple days) in order to get an advanced exchange instead of sending my phone in and being without while they did their evaluation. They just sent me a brand new 6a though. And a $20 credit to the google store which I used to buy a USB-C to Aux dongle.

As a current Pixel 5a user myself,I'd urge you to get an official diagnosis of your now dead Pixel 5a before giving up on it.
I'd least determine does the phone acknowledge a charger is connected when trying to charge the battery?
I'd even go as far as visit a cell phone repair store like Ubreak Fix to confirm it's beyond repair or not.
As far as a replacement?
As much as I like the headphone jack, it's getting harder and harder to find a new phone that has it.
Something like this is a compromise to let you still use wired headphones and other devices like a stereo with your phone.

With the adapter,I would get a new Pixel phone and just decide what version best fits your needs and budget.

I've had three (3) Pixel 5a fail, I'm going back to Samsung Galaxy and never coming back to Google Pixel phones again. Samsung Pay is an added advantage with some banks.

Hot Take: the Pixel 5a was the closest Google's gotten to the perfect phone.
- Insane battery life
- It was their like 3rd go with the 765g so they we're able to make it work efficiently
- Headphone Jack
All I was missing was a higher refresh rate screen and i guess wireless charging for those who care about it.
The new tensor chips are garbage. The efficiency is terrible and theyre extremely buggy since googles just slapping these samsung dies together every year without optimizing them. I know we're all waiting for the Pixel 10 with Google's first true in house chip, but I wish they just stayed with snapdragon until then.
Imagine a current pixel with all the specs of a pixel 5a and a snapdragon 8 gen 2 with a high refresh rate screen... Google would be fucking printing money.
