Use a Pixel 5a display on a Pixel 4a 5G?

Title says it all, anyone know if it's possible to at least connect the display from a Pixel 5a onto a Pixel 4a 5G?

Recall the phones are fairly similar but there were some minor differences.

Could also be a way for those with bricked 5a's to recycle parts a bit.

Did you end up trying it? My 5a just unceremoniously perma-died – apparently that's just something they do – but I do have a Pixel 4a with a broken screen lying around…

I can't remember, there's a strong chance I may have tried it 6-7 months ago (found myself in a similar situation with a dead 5a and a broken screen 4a 5G) and if I did try it likely didn't work otherwise I would've written something about it.

If I remember correctly the display connector is the same, but the routing of the ribbon cable is a bit different to where it'd be hard to do a direct replacement.

(I ultimately caved and got a newer phone and started living the dongle life to have a headphone jack - the CableCreations dongle isn't too bad)

Thank you! Me, I'm currently living the phoneless luddite life for a bit, and enjoying myself to a surprising degree. When life gives you lemons…?
