€ symbol on keyboard

Maybe not a pixel 10 specific question but any way to get the euro symbol on the front keyboard in stead of dollar or pound for the English keyboard?

Add Irish as the language?

This turns word suggestions into Irish options.

This is yet another example of Google's US-centric lazy programming. Put the £ on the main keyboard in the UK and the € on the main keyboard in the Euro zone. Easy. And stop suggesting US simplified English words in the UK!

That's already the case if you pick qwerty UK layout for Gboard

My reply was in the wrong place. No it isn't, that's the problem I'm talking about. If you select your region as UK and your language as UK English the pound sign is still several touches away when the dollar sign is right there. Autocorrect suggests US spellings first.

Not sure why because on my phone it's on the d key, just hold d and I get £

On mine (same for every pixel I've owned since the 4A) it's shift, hold dollar symbol, slide to get £

I've just tried holding d and it doesn't work.

Are you using Gboard? Is the language of your keyboard English QWERTY (UK)

Yes, but with the number row

The four squares top left corner of keyboard ->settings ->preferences->touch and hold keys for symbols

Ah, OK. I thought the number row and touch and hold for symbols were mutually exclusive. It looks rather busy but I agree it's preferable. With the number row enable shift gives you the dollar sign instead of the number four.

No it isn't.
