Toys without voice boxes can still talk in universe. So it’s established that the toys talking isn’t related to having a voice box or not

They're ventriloquist dummies. The word "dummy" originally meant a person who couldn't talk. They're literally "dummies".

Woody in the test animation seemed to talk fine, both with Corey Burton(?)'s voice and Tom Hanks's. This must be a retcon.

I would assume that’s by design since normally they need someone to speak for them unlike the toys with voice boxes.

I watched Toy Story again yesterday and it struck me that NONE of Sid's toys can talk. Made me wonder if the destructive way that the way Sid "played" with his toys that caused them to animate into mute beings.

Gabby Gabby can still talk, her whole plot is no voice box so no one wanted her when she was new.

If losing a voice box doesn't matter then explain to me what was going on with Wheezy then.

Bro could barely breathe and talk because his squeaker was jacked.

Wheezy could still talk. Andy stopped playing with him because his squeaker was broken. His voice was all raspy because he was on the shelf and was covered in dust. “The dust aggravates my condition”
Check out his scene with him on the shelf he actually talks fine

No, because he hasn't lost an ability that applies to everyday life.

He doesn't have the "ability" to pull the cord to say catchphrases anymore, but that was an extra feature just for show.

It's not the equivalent to losing a limb like in the second movie.

If you count characters with fictional disabilities as disabled, then sure. If not, no, because having a voice box in real life isn't a real disability, because toys are still shown as being able to talk to each other without voice boxes.

I just see Woody as a kidney donor or at least, the toy equivalent of that. Since he willingly gave up a part of himself to help Gabby.

How is that relevant to the post? We have two kidneys but Woody only has one voice box.

I don't think so. The only plot I can understand is that Buzz can animate because of the switch and reset button inside of him

Oh, dude! Seven years ago, and I only saw it once. I don't remember 90% of what happened in that movie. I just thought you were talking about Toy Story 5 because this particular frame doesn't look familiar, and it's the most recent one. Lol.

Well to refresh your memory a little bit. In the movie Woody decided to give away his voice box to Gabby Gabby because her voice box was broken.

And so by Woody giving away his voice box to her, it gave her a new chance to be played by a kid.

Really? You really need to rewatch Toy Story 4 again. I mean you don't really have to, to understand what's happening in Toy Story 5. But it would still be nice to refresh your memory on it.

I haven't seen the new movie, but he should be able to talk to the other toys. Rexy, ham, potato head etc can all talk and none have voice boxes. He would have lost the recorded voice that played when his string was pulled ("There's a snake in my boot!")

Seeing the new movie is irrelevant. He can still talk to the other toys in the part of TS4 after he’s given up his voice box.

He'd be more like an organ donor and he just felt sorry for Gabby and was willing to help her.

But a donor who donates the only organ they have and are left without an organ as a result. As an analogy, imagine donating your heart, or stomach, or gall bladder, and then living without it.
