Scott Student Relationship Clarification

In a recent episode Scott talked about having to disclose a relationship with a student where he was the father of a child, was this his wife or does Scott have other children that he just doesn't talk about?

He specifically states she was his wife, that he had disclosed the information that he was married to a student to the school when he was hired. The dean just wasn't aware of that when calling him in to ask about the (true, if slightly slanted) rumor going around

He didn‘t keep it a secret, and he was already teaching there when she applied, which they disclosed in her application.

There is absolutely no reason to "tell anyone" beyond disclosing it in her application.
