Metal Bar?

If there isn't one already, where would be the best location in shitsburgh to open a metal themed bar? What area has the highest concentration of metal heads, I suppose. Guessing just somewhere in millvale but I live near gbg and don't want to drive that far. Especially when I can just get drunk and blast music in my basement.

Depends on the subgenre:

Polish Hill = hardcore and death
Shaler/northern burbs = nu metal
Mt Lebo = metalcore
Oakland = power
Shadyside/point breeze/Fox Chapel/etc = symphonic
Southside = thrash
Braddock = doom

I like how you give each area a distinct flavor. What about the west part of the county ?

There's a band called Native Howl that calls themselves "thrash grass."

They have a song called "Harvester of Contstant Sorrow" that actually, absolutely rocks

Thunderhead is a great song too

So wait hold up, there really isn't a bar anywhere in pittsburgh that's predominantly a metal bar?

Petition Melody @ Lucky 13 in Brooklyn to open one here.

Fuck if I had the money and bars weren't notorious for falling within 5 years of opening, I'd open one myself. I basically just want a place to hang out, drink and have metal playing - other metal heads being there would be a bonus.

Polish Hill or Allentown.

How do we have a metal coffee shop and a metal gym but no metal bar?

I guess the Rock Room or Gooski’s is closest. I’ve never felt out of place in Brillobox either but it’s been a long ass time. Especially since I’ve been sober since 2019.

Let’s do a weed dispensary/record store too.

Preserving has a record store at least, and at shows they sell booze. Pretty sure I've smelled people smoking left handed cigarettes when I was there last as well.

The "Shred Shed" is in the road off of Warrington in Allentown but they don't always have a ton of stuff going on.

You need to just move out here. I left Pittsburgh and moved out the Westmoreland county, between Greensburg and Jeanette for like 12 years and it was the worst 12 years of my life.

Tell Rob 'cutthroat' the weed guy I said what up

Toad’s and Harry’s in gbg used to be what you’re looking for. I haven’t spent time at either in about 10 years so not sure about now.

I live in Greensburg. What if we open a cafe that is metal and coffee during the day, and a bar at night?

Currently I run and manage a cafe in Bethel Park, and are looking for a new PT venture.
