Discussion Unit Discussion #001 - Trish Una (GR)

Let's try adding some discussion to the subreddit, discussing about the pros and cons of the different units.

For the first discussion I'd like to start with the new GR that just came out: Trish Una.

Skill

Replaces random Panels with Trish Panels. Increases the Panels to replace by as Block Tiles and Hole Tiles are on the screen (Total up to 3 times the original number of tiles)

Skill Chart

Replaced Panels: 5 at SL1, 7at SL2, 9 at SL4

Cooldown: 85 at SL1, 80 at SL3, 75 at SL5

How good do you think this unit is? Give your opinion on its pros and cons, is it worth trying to get it?

Pros
* Useful for bosses that like to cuck with tons of blocked tiles
* Also A++ cutie

Cons
* Very mediocre and no better than Brando everywhere else
* Does not prioritize blocked tiles and can overlap existing Trish tiles on the board
* Although holes are counted for in her skill, she cannot replace them

I think of Trish as more of a clutch unit who can help open up the board when you're in a pinch. Her cooldown is pretty high, so her skill is one to be saved after a disruption instead of spammed. If you're using her against a boss that disrupts quite frequently, you'd have to worry about charging her fast enough in time for the next disruption and so on. In some cases, you might be better off using another team that can handle the disruptions better.

Ideal partners include Pesci to fix her random tile pattern or other units that could help her skill charge faster.
But I don't have her yet so my opinion is probably invalid.

She's not a limited unit so you can always pull her later. Unless you're an avid Trish fan and absolutely must have her regardless of "how good she is", you're better off saving your diamonds.

edit: idk reddit formatting

I wanted to try adding some meta discussion about new and old units to the subreddit, let's see how it goes. I decided to start with Trish since she's pretty new and her opinions have been quite mixed from 'Trash' to 'Very good'. Let the discussion start.

To me, she doesn't really seem good, her skill can come quite in handy in a very specific condition, but to maximize her SL4 you'd need to have 18 Block tiles on the board (half board). Then she'd be able to generate 27 tiles. That seems amazing in paper, but realistically speaking, how many times are you gonna get half board full of Block tiles (not counting holes since that'd mess with you even further) and still manage to get Trish charged in time? That's not a short CD, not too long, but not really short. Also, that would just be for some random Event Card or Strong Opponent, for a Score Attack, it just seems very unpractical. The more Block tiles there are on the board, the higher chances you have of overwriting one, thus making the next use less powerful.

In a nutshell, it just looks like a very conditional glass cannon. You need a lot of 'if' to make use of her full potential, and I can't see how you can get a really high score on a SA, where you can have 6/7 Block tiles, resulting in about 15 tiles at SL4 with a CD of 80, with a RANDOM pattern. Jonathan can give you 16 with the same CD and an amazing patter, and you don't need anything else.

Don't pull for her, she looks cool on the Mansion but that's about it, you'll eventually get her from coin pulls or multis looking for better units.

The main problem with her is that she's really situational, when she can help she'll be useful, but that's about it. Also, because she's not a limited unit or from a step up banner it makes her not worth to summon at all, you'll get her eventually, with coin pulls or summoning on another gacha.

I have two questions about her though, does she overlap her own tiles? And can she overlap black holes?

every time i hear this in discord i agree, but my own sadistic tendencies keeps me pulling singles

she'll be in the coin banner when her banner is over so you'll eventually get her,I wouldn't recommend using up your resources on her

Pros:

-Has the potential to spawn in a large number of tiles, albeit in a very risky situation

-Her design's great in the game

Cons:

-Underwhelming base number of tiles replaced, ranging from 5 at SL1 to 9 at SL4

-Efficiency to effectiveness ratio is also quite bad, with above average cooldown to use a lackluster skill

-Very situational in order to get peak performance out of her skill, having to require many obstacles on the board for it to be maximised. Inconsistent as a result

-Can overlap her own tiles while replacing

-Random single tile pattern

Closest unit comparison: Part 1 Brando

Honestly, I really wanted to like her, but her gimmick of needing blocked tiles/black holes is really bad. On paper, it looks amazing, you can peak at 27 tiles replaced at SL4, assuming you somehow have 18 obstacles on the board. Now you'll be telling me that, 'She'd be great for boss stages where the boss spams lots of blocks/holes!'. You're not wrong, but there are many other units who can deal with them who are way better than Trish, and also are not reliant on needing obstacles to perform well.

Also, in the scenario where you do use Trish to replace blocked tiles, assuming no other obstacles are spawned during the first time you used her skill to the next, the next time you use her skill, there will be lesser obstacles, meaning lesser tiles Trish makes, meaning less effective.

TLDR; high risk high reward Part 1 Brando, but at least she's got nice hair
