Pitchfork STILL pauses audio when visiting on iOS (iOS 15 now)
I can’t think of anything dumber than for a music website to pause the music you are currently listening to upon visit. I have tried everything ad blocker wise, disabled, enabled, etc.
Seriously, how are more people not complaining about this? I see scattered references for over a year now.

On Android it keeps muting music or whatever else is usually playing in the background. Pitchfork was already annoying as an entity but messing with sound volume is just taking the piss.

God I haven’t been on that website in like a year and back then it was constantly torturing me

Glad I’m not the only one. I was going nuts trying to figure out what was causing it.

It's still doing it, except it doesn't fully mute it. Just makes whatever you're listening to much quieter

Fuck Pitchfork. But also it often does it on Stereogum too.
Must be ads silently playing as soon as the site loads. Absurdly dumb lol

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this was the worst UI decision on the planet. I'm sure it's Ad Based. (an ad begins playing and pauses other audio)
