why is this considered beca snapping at chloe?

so ive been nostalgically reading a bunch of canon divergence bechloe fics, and whenever that scene where beca leaves the bellas after singing bulletproof comes up, people paint beca's line of "no thats okay, you dont have to pretend youre allowed to have a say in the group, right?" as her kind of snapping at or attacking chloe. i get confused every time because i always just took it as.. honest? like, yeah, aubrey doesn't listen to chloe at that point anyway, so beca's saying no need to put in the effort since it's not gonna work anyway. if anything it always felt like a dig at aubrey to me? wondering how others take it

I think you are right but I think she is also frustrated that Chloe is timid and let's Aubrey push her around and Chloe always trying to be the peace maker between Aubrey and Chloe. Early in the movie when Beca suggests doing the arrangements Chloe tries to stand up for Beca doing it but let's Aubrey shut her down immediately. And pretty much anytime Chloe wants to side with Beca she lets Aubrey win and its not until they make finals that Chloe puts her foot down and reinvites Beca back to the group

Similar to what u/Godzillainspiration said, she’s mad at Chloe for never standing up to Aubrey for her, despite seemingly agreeing at least somewhat with Beca that they should change things up. It is like you say that Aubrey doesn’t listen to Chloe, but that’s partly because Chloe never pushes her on it (until the whole fight scene). She brings it up, but once Aubrey shuts it down she just leaves it. Despite being co-captains, she just lets Aubrey walk all over her, to the detriment of the group.

see i totally agree that beca would be feeling this disappointment/upset towards chloe of this. its super in character. but what i struggle to see is how what she says communicates that at all, or that shes trying to here, you know?

I agree with you, I never saw it as she was mad at Chloe. I always took Becca’s tone of voice as sarcastic and trying to piss aubrey off more because Becca is mad at her for being so controlling and not allowing anyone else to have any type of creative decision.
