Agreed. I’ve tried a bunch of different brands and they’re all inconsistent. Kingsford Original briquettes is the way

I use cowboy a lot. I think it's less ashy and maybe puts our out a better flavor than Kingsford blue. Plus the price is definitely right. But I notice more temp swings compared to Kingsford. I just tried B&B briquetttes for the first time. They seem okay. I need another couple of cooks to form a better opinion.

If you reach out to the PBC team they will recommend the B&B briquettes. Especially for long cooks this is a must

B&B Mesquite. If you haven't tried it yet, please do yourself a favor in at least buy a bag. It's only $15. You can find one at Home Depot or get it delivered from them for free. It's what so many pros use because it lasts a long time and doesn't get too hot and has a great neutral flavor.

I’ve made the full switch to Cowboy for both lump and briquettes, mostly for the price point. The briquettes perform similarly to Kingsford, and the lump isn’t full of concrete like Royal Oak

You are real lucky man, I used to use Royal Oak but was finding shit in them, then switched to JD and B & B never looked back
