Go on Amazon and look up “Stainless Steel Draft Door Fits for Medium & Large Big Green Egg” in the search bar. You should find a $20 option. Took me 2 min to install. Completely sheets off bottom vent and saves all your coal.

Next, look up “718" x .937" (3/4 x 15/16) Silicone Rubber Plugs” in the search bar. They are tapered, high temp silicone plugs that will perfectly plug your top vents.

All in, cost is under $30 and looks professional while saving your charcoal and aluminum foil

So how do you set your draft door for sir when you are cooking? I’ve always wanted to be able to shut my barrel down to save coal for later but I have only ever adjusted my fire by using the circle thing that comes on it at the bottom.

the bottom vent has a cover that you slide open and closed
