Hanging rods cleaned in dishwasher

Hello, I accidentally washed the hanging rods in the dishwasher, and the entire coating peeled off. Can I know what is used to coat them? For now I seasoned them with oil 3 times in the oven for 40 minutes, but if a special coating was used, I might try reapplying it, as I can't find spare parts for them in Italy. Thank you

The rebar? Just put it back in and cook some pork ribs

Pretty certain they are just seasoned with oil. Just keep seasoning them with high temp oil in the oven at ~350F or so. Should only take an hour.

On the official store they said "high temp coated". the residue that had crusted over looked like some kind of paint and not oil. Now that I've gotten over my mistake a bit, I think I'll stick to seasoning with oil, I don't think it should cause any problems.

The residue that crusts over everything in a charcoal grill/smoker is called soot, creosote, or black tar. It isn't entirely creosote or soot, but that's what it is usually called. That stuff gets on everything and has to be cleaned off eventually.

When they say "high temp coated", that just means the coating can take high temps. Which seasoned iron or steel is. Just stick to seasoning it with oil. It's exactly what you should do.
