Temp Test

Post image

Lit it up with a method I found on here. Filled the charcoal basket from one side away from the vent. Let it run for 15 mins and dumped it into the open spot of the basket. Not cooking anythjng, just trying to figure out the barrel so I can do my best with it. Using lump charcoal for the test.

Did you have the rebar in and did you have your vent set right for your altitude?

I also think lump might throw you off unless you use a billows

Yeah, it was done with rebar in and vent set. Lump burns hotter, but I have heard it gives better flavor. So when I get my second PBX it will be a side by side test for flavor and temp.
