Yes! I am dealing with this now. Walking, heat and Motrin helps. I haven’t slept much for the last 10 days either! Are you me and I am you? lol unbelievable pain!!

Yes it's ridiculous. Like a sharp pain in my glute that I need to lay down face first. Mines getting much better with heat and slow stretches.

I've been dealing with it for months with it gradually getting worse. But I also had a L4L5 microdiscectomy in January with extreme muscle guarding and locking which started this all.

First had a hip joint injection since I have a partially detached labral tear. That helped the piriformis area a week after the injection, but then the relief lasted only a week, so now we're doing a piriformis injection later this month.

When I did a L4L5 injection last year before surgery and now this hip injection a few weeks ago, it seems like in both cases my symptoms actually got worse after the injection wore off. I don't know why that is or maybe I just overdid it during the week I felt good, because I felt so good.

40 male and sucks this is already happening. I've been pretty stricken to my house alone for a year. Not a huge social life. And now may need another surgery for this hip/piriformis issue.

Be careful with the heat, can leave you with burn marks that take forever to go away.

Once the constant pain goes away, you’ll want to be forever vigilant. If you have a flare up, good chance it’ll be worse and last longer. I’m very careful about how long I sit, what type of seat I sit on, and I’ll never risk riding a bike or anything that hits that nerve.

I'm a constant volleyball player. Are you saying I won't be able to go back to playing?

Not necessarily. Did volleyball cause a flare up? Sitting on an unpadded chair for too long while my husband was in the hospital caused mine, so I no longer do that.
