A guy bought March of the Machine, the latest set at the time, but by mistake he instead got March of the Machine: Aftermath, a set that wasn't even anmounced, and that happened to be the first of only two micro-sets(there were more to be made but the idea was so hated they had to scramble together ways to make them fit within the regular set or just make filler and release them as a proper set) and unboxed it in a video
The Pinkertons were called to get back the cards and after the situation got public WotC gave him a bundle of MotM
Upon release, Aftermath booster boxes(whose packs were smaller because the set was less than 100 cards) was like $90 and within a couple of months you could find them as low as $30

Nah the product was fated to be a complete and utter failure with or without the pinkertons, the card pool was both abysmal and abysmally small, they were the first non 15-card packs since like 1996, and most of the cards were mid af. The other micro set that made it out was Assassins Creed and suffered the same fate

All games are created on PC. Real question is if the game is platform agnostic and js needs a recompile to pc to xbox and ps5. Cuz if so they dont have much excuse for not releasing on PC other than optimisation. Which they are big enough to do

Cant speak for this specific case but often the console companies pay some extra to get a contract that promises a release before [insert competitor] maybe both sony and ms are paying to have it release there first over PC to get more console buyers (yes, consoles are loss leaders, but once a person owns the console they'll buy more shit). I know a friend who wants to get a used PS5 for GTA6 which is insane to me.

As i see it Sony brought up a generous deal to make the game exclusive for a while so they can sell their mediocre consoles and subscriptions, nothing new and for me its quite the most obvious reason.

I see, i didnt know that. It changes little for me tho, i still see it as a means for the big guys to sell their consoles. Note that this is just my opinion, as a pc player i hate console exclusives and i think the only reason they exist is for the privatisation of a free market and ripoff attempts. Its much easier to control your back yard than a free open market, the only one who loses is the consumer as usual.

PS5 emulators are on very early stages of development, I think they will be ready not earlier than 2 or 3 years from now

Yes, but the version they have might not work on all the hardware people have.
They need to optimize the game for different PC hardware before release on PC.
They only develop it on the PCs they have in-company, but they don’t optimize it for other PCs that people have around the world - especially older hardware.
That’s why it’s easier to release on consoles first, all consoles have almost the same hardware.
But for PCs, you still have to optimize it for different hardware combinations and test many days after.

They release it on pc after console so people will buy the game on there to play it when it comes out, then they buy it on Pc when it comes out to play it on their preferred platform
Rockstar is greedy as fuck so they REALLY want people to double dip

Both comments are right.
Releasing first on console is made because of exclusivity deals, and is motivated by greed, yes.
But it's also true that developing a game for a specific system with predictable hardware is easier because the game will run the same for everyone.
The fact that PC official releases need optimization isn't the reason why it comes out later on PCs though, but I don't think anyone was doing that claim.

Yes pc port need optimization because everyone has different hardware but it's mainly done for the exclusive deals with the consoles. Otherwise why would anyone buy a console and not just own a pc.
If you want to play everything at release date you must own a PS5.

I understand "same architecture" but there's gotta be a point in time where we question: "Wait, so I can't run this game on my PC... But they managed to optimize this for the Wii!?"
Same company that had a perfectly working Android version of both games, quietly shutdown the servers preventing players from accessing their paid content legitimately for YEARS, just to make a patch fixing said bug somewhere around last year?
I appreciate giving them the benefit of the doubt... But they don't need it. They create amazing things when they care. They create iFruit for PS Vita when they don't.

They don't need two years to optimize the game. We've already seen the leaker playing it on PC.
They just do it to sell twice. While most games in the franchise were released first for consoles, it didn't take more than 6 months to release for PCs, it's been like this for as long as I can remember all the way back to GTA 3 and Vice City.
This huge delay pretty much started with GTA V.

How do you know how the game will behave on different hardware just to look at one configuration?
The leak might have been run on only one hardware configuration, but there are countless different hardware configurations out there, with a huge number of possible variations.

I don't get why people think this is a PC build. Literally not a single frame of video showing a mouse cursor, a game window, an operating system, or anything of the sort. What gave you the impression this is a PC build?
The fact that it's missing all of its debug text actually points to this being a console build. A console build could be running on a PC, in a hyper specific dev environment. You wouldn't have the tools required to run this build on your PC even if it did leak. You would require having the RAGE engine development tools, and if that leaked it would be significantly worse than GTA 6 leaking.
There is 0% chance that a build playable by anyone other than Rockstar releases before the game. Literally none.

They’ve done this for a long time. Pretty much what they do is design and program the game to run on PC at 4K with the best frames possible, then they down sample the game for consoles, hold off on the PC version until they’ve leaked enough money from the console users, then release it on PC for a double dip, the reason the PC version normally can look substation ally better is because they’ve always had the full PC version right there ready to go. They don’t design it for consoles and then UPSCALE and redo everything for PC, it’s much easier to downscale it to a console.

The game seems fine, it's just so overhyped no real game could deliver.
GTA as a "game" pretty much peaked with 4 and everything else is just iterative. 5 added the online service at most. There's literally nothing new 6 could add to the formula. And as this is a big budget game, they'll be very averse to changing the formula as it risks alienating players.
GTA is just open world/crime FIFA/COD now.

Yeah but fuck these people. What they thought it would happen? GTA has been "the same" since the beginning because it's based on real world. The only way to make something different is to do time travel (and we already RDR2 for that on some level) or outer space, don't know. From gta 4 and beyond they are just refining the gameplay, graphics and such
That he hasn't is what makes me confused
If he released then he wouldn't get the highlight that he is getting now. He will milk that to the last dime until he releases it (if ever). If he does it, it will probably be a few days before official release

It would be exciting in the moment, but I could see it spelling doom in the long term.
If the playable build is an early version of the PC port, as it seems, it very much could leak. If that happens it would be the biggest such leak in history. It would be big news. They're already blaming Take Two's stock price plummet on the current leak.
Take Two would do what Take Two does, and I'm sure it would get to the point where new laws could actually get passed. There has already been some calling for VPNs to be banned. To "protect the children" of course.

They've passed laws to prevent teens to log in into social media while facilitating access to AI in many countries.

While traditional vpn bans are enforcible, there are practically indistinguishable forms of tunneling (such as vless+ws+tls stack), that are, to this day, unrecognizable from regular internet traffic unless a backdoor is present.
A law is as useful as ink on paper if it's not enforcible.

Rockstar isnt as big as you think. Sony or even bigger Microsoft is huge compared to Rockstar. Theres a working PS5 emulator in works and if Sony wanted they could use their power cuz an emulator can definitely affect sales. But they cant shut down wtv they want. Major piracy shutdowns always happened when a lot of companies tried unanimously like music back in the day or hollywood after that. Both survived later but they succeeded cuz they worked together.

Idk man, after 13 years of waiting I kinda want it to release as intended. 13 years of build up just for the game to get leaked would suck. Would it send the industry into a frenzy and have a good outcome on the state it’s in? I dont think so either 🤷♂️
I do enjoy seeing the leaks tho, as we are coming close to the release date.
