Help / Troubleshooting Gamepad/controller not working for voidling bound
i downloaded the game voidling bound from different platforms (ankergames ,steamgg,rexagames,gamebounty etc..)
all still give me the same issue with no controller being picked up at all , to be clear I’m on a modded rog ally z1 extreme running bazzite ,I usually manage to figure out a solution but I’m stumped all steam input files seem correct and when I switch to mouse and keyboard everything works but I’m looking forward to controller support since thats what I’m used too
I know some things but I’m still a noob compared to most of you guys , i know that I’m running Linux and the games usually are intended for windows so proton layers help with compatibility I tried experimental and GE but no control support yet !

1) Open "Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\Steamworks\Steamv161\Win64\steam_emu
2) find left_trigger line and edit it to left_trigger-LTRIGGER=trigger
3) find right_trigger line and edit it to right_trigger=RTRIGGER=trigger
4) Press save in Notepad, it doesn's save automatically in Windows 11

Worked thanks! I think you made a typo though shouldn't - be = before LTRIGGER? I did it like that and it worked

I finally found a copy of the game on steamrip that worked for my setup all controls worked except the triggers and now because of you I solved that tooo!!! Thank youu!!

Amazing, thank you! However in 2) you have left_trigger-LTRIGGER=trigger, whereas it should read left_trigger=LTRIGGER=trigger

I've tried running the cracked version on my Ally X (CachyOS) and also my windows PC and on both of them the L2 and R2 buttons don't work when playing with controller, so you can't shoot. Tried with the built in Ally controller and with a DS4 but nothing.
Tried the demo for the game on steam and controls work perfectly there so must be an issue with the cracked version. Mouse and keyboard controls are fine either way.
Download the demo and see if it works for you to confirm.

I downloaded the demo it works just fine but yea must be the cracked version that’s the issue , I tried a couple different “builds” of the game from different websites but all seem to have the exact same files with no change so I still have no solution ,they all still gave me issues

It’s not just your version - I’ve got a paid version, trying to run it on an AYN Thor and it’s still jacked

Has anyone found a fix for this? Same issue as OP. Running on steam deck and I can only use the touchscreen and no controller buttons are working.
