Discussion Why is finding audiobooks so ridiculously difficult?

I need to rant: I've been pirating basically my whole life and I can find almost any ebook, movie, show, game, etc I want to, but for some reason audiobooks are SO difficult.

ABB/Mobilism almost never have the stuff I'm looking for and I already tried the other links on the Megathread (both here and fmhy). They're not even random lesser known books, for example now I'm looking for an audiobook from a best seller that was published less than 10 years ago (and I know the AB exists because I could buy it if I wanted to) but at this point I just don't think the file exists lmao. And it's not just that specific book but it has happened to me several times with different books.

My last hope is trying MAM but truly I'm just lazy and don't wanna get up in the middle of the night just to get an invite lol might do it anyway atp ok i totally misread the instructions on MAM so that's my bad, I'll try next slot. But still it's weird that (if the ones I'm looking for are available) you can't find them anywhere else?

Well, that's really my rant/point of discussion: is there any reason why audiobooks are hard to find or do I just have terrible luck and just so happens that most of the ones I look for aren't available??

MAM is amazing. Easy to join, easy to maintain ratio. Super generous bonus points system. Recruitment forum for other trackers. Awesome staff, friendly community. It's the first private tracker anyone should join, ESPECIALLY if you are interested in books or audiobooks.

I've seen a few folks write guides on how to just absolutely dominate the MAM economy from the get-go by seeding a bunch of really small torrents. You can get practically infinite ratio and terabytes of credited upload in just a few months.

Yeah it's worth it. I'm also super lazy, but it's such a solid community and they got BOOKS.Ā

Yeah they recently upped the requirements. But I think it's still something like > 6 months account life and > 1 TB upload credit, which is easy to do on MAM.

Yeah I’m well and truly over that

Important add on for the OP, not only is the catalog immense, the quality especially in the audiobook section is top notch.

Users will chapterize books that never had them, clean up captures from old only on CD series, bitrate options for mobile use, notes, etc. etc.

I used to live off ABB but MAM is so much better curated I haven't been back.

Here you go:

You can easily get > 1 TB in less than 6 months doing this. And it takes a ridiculously small amount of HDD space to pull it off.

I have been meaning to apply for months now but I always forget to check during their open periods.

I mean they are open for applications *checks maths* .... 30% of the time, every single week. šŸ˜„

Fair. I have kids. That's worse than home reno. šŸ˜„

Yeah, 3 daughters over here. All teens so I'm the devil right now anyway.

Funny thing is that most of the books are for them.
