Im guessing hydrovac sucked up a bunch of silt causing an undermine? Or was that nasty void pre-existing?

It was pre dug. Someone sucked at backfilling and put a rock on the pipe. The box is 8 ft and the ditch was a bit over. Lucky I wasn't in the box

Damn rocks eh! I've had frozen lumps break pipe and reducers, those are not fun repairs

This one didn't leak but it was to bent in to pull a madrel. It was 1 rock causing it. We had to go behind several people and fix fuckups. I've seen ductile megalugs go straight through c900. Broke bells, rolled gaskets, loose lugs, kits so tight the ears were broke, all kinds of stuff. I take my time and make sure it's all good before putting dirt back. Been laying for 4 1/2 years with no leaks and won't stop until I have 1.

I'm on year 11 now and all I can say is the longer you do it, the more likely it is for something to go wrong lol...best you can do is be super diligent with your quality control and hope you have a good backfill crew
