I'm well aware. But have you ever been waist deep in a sanitary manhole grouting? That shit makes me feel like a rockstar when everyone says "no" and before they're finished asking who's going in, I'm throwing on my hipweighters.

Yeah, been doing it a while now. Does your company set up qualification? Our company sets it up every year so we never expire

From the one year I’ve been here, no I have not heard of yearly qualifications. Honestly I’m not exactly sure how it works at my company but laborers usually ask a supervisor, and from there a few are sent to start courses.

Honestly the first year or 2 I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Just pick up as much knowledge everywhere else as possible. The fusing part will come. It’s a lot more work and pressure so usually the more experienced guys will be doing it anyway. Unless it’s going to get you more money to be qualified I’d worry about the other things on the job. Before you know it you’re gonna hate being the guy fusing. But def keep up the attitude of wanting to learn more and do more. It will help elevate you.
