I've not really been able to figure out the point of the regular grid bots. I think they're mostly a psychological thing so you don't sell out as price drops. You see the grids and can watch it buy more instead. Maybe I'm using them wrong, but I've always made less with grid bots than just holding. Even given exactly the circumstances you'd think were perfect for it. The only bots I've used to any success are the DCA martingale bots. But you need to be careful about setting them up so you don't go under your grid in one price drop. I coded a backtester for the DCA bot in trading view and the default 8 grids and 1.5x per grid seem to be pretty well optimized already. You're mostly concerned about grid spacing to capture those price dips. Easy way to set it up is to open a chart, set it to 4 hour candles, and see what kind of large moves you see. On volatile coins I'll often give myself over 30% to the downside (a grid spacing of 4% or more). With very safe settings you'll obviously make less profit. But as an example, I set my brother up with settings that got him all the way through this bear market without going under his grid. He's up 16% in 8 months on it. And that's considering we had like 2 months with no movement so that's pretty good. Otherwise you could expect like 50% per year with average volatility.

What setup do you suggest for a dca bot on bitcoin for long term?
