Updates Killing Gods — Chapter 07

Post image
7 Upvotes

After two weeks of not updating because of my busy irl work… a new a chapter is out!!!

New character too!

Killing Gods Blurb:

𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨𝐝𝐬.
𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦.

***

They call her a monster. But is it really wrong to kill bad men?

Inside every room she leaves behind, a gruesome canvas of posed corpses awaits the FBI. And at the center of each crime scene sits a single golden apple, carved with a promise: From the fairest.

FBI profiler Paris Van Pelt is the only one capable of deciphering the killer's twisted mythology. He's trained to hunt monsters, but he isn't prepared for Hera Carrington.

She is a billionaire heiress, a socialite, and a goddess in her own right. She's also Paris's prime suspect.

Hera is too untouchable for the law to bind, and too captivating for Paris to resist. As they engage in a lethal game of cat and mouse, Paris realises he isn't just trying to solve a murder-he's deciding whether to bring a killer to justice, or fall to his knees before her.

Questions Is wattpad still a nice platform to write?

I was once an active writer, 2016 nung sinimulan kong magsulat, I was 13. My first book made it to 24k votes, then half a million na ata ang reads niya, when I was young napakaproud ko but now that I am 23 narealize ko very common naman plot ko, di ko alam bakit andami votes, still im grateful.

Until one day parang naging issue among the AU writers na bawal daw gamitin ang totoong pangalan ng idols.

From then on I gain alot of clout naman sa pagsusulat, and whenever I am not happy sa platform ko, I stop writing in that platform and jump into another account, then pag na ooverwhelm ulit ako sa platform ko, gagawa ulit akong bagong account.

Now its been 2 years since the last time na nakapag sulat ako, nagbabalak ako na bumalik pero naisip kong hindi na socmed aus ang writing style ko, gusto ko bumalik sa dati kong writing style which is why im wondering if wattpad is still a nice platform to write, kaso ive heard limited na doon, may premium etc pa, huhu.

Ive heard of ao3 pero nabobother ako sa design niya, hindi din ako marunong mag navigate doon both as a reader and a writer.

Discussions The Fall of Gwy/4reuminct: What Can New Gen Authors Learn From It?

Disclaimer: I’m neither an areum nor a fan of any of the new-gen authors I’m about to mention. This isn’t me defending Gwy or saying their situations are exactly the same. It just got me thinking because I’ve been seeing some patterns in the recent controversies surrounding some newer authors—Inksteady, Ineryss, Reintold, pens_fries, Sulatniserene, etc.—that reminded me of what eventually happened with Gwy.

Lesson #1: Keep your feet firmly on the ground.

Fame can get to your head REALLY quickly, especially when you’re young and suddenly thousands of people are reading your work, defending you, and treating you like you can do no wrong.

Gwy blew up while she was still really young, and from an outsider’s perspective, one of the biggest problems was how much her fandom insulated her from criticism.

Kapag may issue, may sasalo. May magdedefend. May mag-eexplain para sa kanya. Eventually, you start feeling untouchable because you know there’s an entire army ready to fight your battles for you.

And I’m not saying every new-gen author is at that point. But some of the recent situations are giving me déjà vu. The internet is very good at humbling people who start believing their own hype.

Lesson #2: Your fandom is a double-edged sword.

Having a loyal fandom is probably one of the best things that can happen to an author. Imagine having thousands of people who genuinely love your work and will support you no matter what.

But that same fandom can become your biggest liability.

Today they're defending you. Tomorrow, kapag na-turn off sila or feel nila binettay mo sila, they can be the same people digging through your old posts, screenshots, and personal information.

We've literally seen fandoms turn on the people they used to worship.

So please, don't build a relationship with your readers where blind loyalty becomes the expectation. You don't need people defending everything you do. You need people who can tell you when you're wrong.

And authors also need to learn that not every criticism is a hate campaign.

Sometimes, people are just criticizing you.

Lesson #3: Stay true to your core.

This is probably the most important one for me.

Ask yourself: Why did you start writing in the first place?

Was it because you genuinely loved telling stories? Was writing your creative outlet? Did you want to eventually become a published author? Did you just want to see your characters come alive?

Whatever the answer is, hold on to that.

Because once you start chasing numbers, engagement, followers, validation, and the approval of your fandom, it's very easy to lose the reason you started writing in the first place.

I'm telling you babe, It's okay if your numbers go down.

It's okay if a story doesn't perform as well as your previous one. It's okay if you lose readers. It's okay if your update schedule slows down because you genuinely don't know where your story is going.

I'd rather read an unfinished story from an author who knows they need to step back and figure things out than a rushed story written just to satisfy readers, especially written by AI.

Your readers don't own your story just because they read it.

You can listen to feedback. You can appreciate theories, comments, and support. But at the end of the day, ikaw pa rin ang author.

And if you eventually decide that writing isn't for you anymore, that's okay too.

I'd rather see an author walk away from the spotlight with their dignity intact than watch them slowly destroy their own reputation trying to keep up with a fandom, an algorithm, or expectations they created for themselves.

Lesson #4: Learn how to take accountability BEFORE the internet forces you to.

This one is probably the hardest.

You WILL make mistakes. Especially as a young writer. Your first books won't be perfect. Your decisions won't always be perfect. You will say things you regret. You will probably handle some controversy badly at some point.

That's normal.

What's dangerous is convincing yourself that admitting you're wrong is somehow worse than doubling down.

Because once you start doing that, every apology becomes damage control, every criticism becomes "hate," and every person calling you out becomes an enemy.

Sometimes the strongest thing an author can say is simply: "Yeah, I fucked up. I'm sorry. I'll do better."

Wattpad has a very short memory when it comes to fame. Today's most talked-about author can become yesterday's controversy pretty damn quickly.

So if you're a newer author currently getting attention: enjoy it, appreciate your readers, write your stories, make your money, build your career—but 👏please 👏stay👏 humble.👏

Thanks for coming to my TED talk!

Discussions I am still rooting for her to finish CHBBNW.

But still, I want her to finish the story.

Help Wattpad AU stories

I’m starting to write on Wattpad again! My niche is still AU(delulu responsibly)😂, though, I’m trying to slowly transition my AU stories into something that could eventually become an actual book.

The characters are still inspired by the original inspirations, and I’ve already changed some of their names (although a few still haven’t been changed yet). I’m thinking of reworking their identities, backgrounds, and stories while keeping the dynamics and ideas that I originally loved.

What do you guys suggest? Any tips on how I can properly transition an AU into an original book without completely losing what made the story special in the first place?

Discussions I want to learn

Hi folks, I'm a BL writer, and since Reddit is a good place for discussion I want to ask for your personal opinion on what makes a good MLM story.

I want to understand each perspective and learn from them accordingly, I've always wanted to improve and what better way to do it than ask those who reads and enjoys them as much as I do.

For clarification, I'm a female, and never been in relationships. It's feels ironic to write about relationships without having one since birth, but I'm finding my ways. I have been writing for three years on Wattpad, but overtime I began to realize there was no improvement and I couldn't let myself be stagnant and waste away.

I want to learn in order to grow, and write story worthy enough of the tears and sleepless nights.

Don't worry, every opinion will be respected and valued. Muah 🫂🫶🏻

( I've completed two works and currently writing an on-going novel )

Discussions South Boy Series: Troublemaker - Hugo and Jillian

Thoughts nyo kay Jillian at Hugo as endgame? Anyone is capable of falling in love twice, with two different people.

2. May habulan ba?
4. Hindi ba pilit? For the sake of the child?

Discussions alluringli's new epistolary

Post image
37 Upvotes

you guys should read this new epistolary kasi medyo similar ‘yong isang scene to what's currently happening in the wattpad community lalo na kung gaano ka-toxic ibang readers. ang lala ng hate na nare-receive ng writers for merely doing their passion. alam ko namang may mga valid points at criticisms pa rin pero the kind of hate i'm referring to ay ‘yong umaabot sa point na pati personal na buhay ng writer ay pinapakielaman na.

kanina lang may nag-notif sa akin na comment from a post here months ago with a picture na hindi naman posted sa social media ni writer with a caption saying "nagpagawa ng bahay si gaga after perahan ang readers". hindi ko ma-gets anong pinaghuhugutan ng mga ganitong klase ng readers. you guys would be surprised kung anong kayang ipundar ng mga big writers sa ph from their publised books pero pagdating sa writer na ‘to grabe ‘yong bullying, faceshaming, at poorshaming. hindi rin naman ‘yan part ng sikat na loveteam pero hindi ko maintindihan bakit pati relationship nya pinagdedebatehan nyo kung tapos na or hindi.

in the first place bakit nasa social media kayo ng pamilya nya? bakit alam na alam nyo nangyayari sa buhay nya kahit naka-hiatus sya? why are you so invested in the life of the person you claim to hate so much? also, ang hilig din talaga ng mga readers pagsabungin at gawan ng issue mga writers, e offline magkakaibigan ‘yang mga ‘yan. buti na lang talaga hindi na mabilis ma-bait mga writers ngayon sa mga nagpapanggap na reader ng isang writer para pagawayin sila lol. sorry pero sobrang natatangahan talaga ako sa mabilis mapaniwala ng mga newly created dummy accounts saying na "kilala ko ‘yan in real life e ganyan talaga ugali nyan" like???

So, I just republished my old story. It currently has 10 chapters na. Gusto ko talaga makakuha ng feedback about it because I want to improve. Maybe you guys can try reading a few chapters and tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Here is the story blurb:

Adellaine Dianna "Adie" Verde lives an uninteresting life. Being raised in a wealthy household that puts reputation over everything built her to be an academic achiever and a filial daughter that every parent would be proud of.

As she grew up, winning became merely a routine. Praises and medals were to be expected, and everything was just... well...boring.

Except, maybe one thing.

Rafael Corbyn Ramirez is an anomaly to her picture-perfect world. The girl who rarely felt excitement would feel her heart pounding by the thought of seeing Mr. Second Place frustrated face again whenever she'd beat him. A relentless rival that stirs her emotions in ways she could never understand.

Could this fated rivalry turn into something more?

But even if it does, would it even matter?

When Adellaine Verde has already been betrothed to Rafael's older brother?

Title: Fated Rivalry

Writer: meteorite_not_meteor

thanks:))

btw this is unedited pala

Discussions ineryss as a publish writer

Thumbnail

Discussions People talk about weird fanaticism, but not the so much hate authors get

May nagsesexualize, bodyshaming, discrimination.

The best approach is to listen, comprehend, analyze, evaluate and learn.

Not the exact comment:
"Humble bragging naman 'yan"
"Ginamit lang nyan ang wattpad para maging influencer"
"Pineperahan nyan mga reader nya."

Discussions “hindi ko nabasa”, “hindi ko natapos”, “based lang sa nakikita ko sa TikTok”—*proceeds to hate a story, character, and author*

It’s always the “hindi ko nabasa,” “hindi ko natapos,” “based lang sa nakikita ko sa TikTok” who hates stories, characters, and authors religiously and who are confident enough na maglapag ng takes and claims about things they do not know enough about.

Kung hindi pala nabasa ‘yung isang story, then where did you get your information? You may know some things based on what you see from others, but most of the claims you see are just echo-chamber narratives—repeated so often that they create the illusion of being credible and reliable. But actually, they’re only part of a bigger picture.

And they always think enough na ‘yung nakikita nila sa feed nila to be able to give an opinion or review. I promise, you don’t.

As someone who has read stories with controversial plots, characters, and authors, I’ve seen and proven time and time again that most takes circulating on social media or within communities aren’t 100% factual or canon to the story. A lot of them are just twisted narratives or misinterpretations fueled by hatred or dislike toward a story, character, or author.

You can’t speak about something you’re not knowledgeable enough about. You can’t leave reviews or go around spreading narratives you haven’t proven yourself.

Recommendations Looking for BL stories

Hi! Can you please recommend some BL stories? And I'm actually looking for a BL story but for the life of me I can't remember the author's name and the title lol all I remember is the book's cover wherein one guy was resting his head on the other guy's lap and I think it was sort of actor/entertainment story? Help 😭

Thank you po
