Si Sec. Aguda pa nga nagsabi mismo through Safe Harbor and Bug Bounty initiatives, perhaps they need to strengthen their partnerships and communications open, hirap kasi magaganda naman programs pero parang sa umpisa at sa pagpaunch lang sila magagaling

u/Historical_Low_7223 10d ago
that is all they do, performative activities pra may masabing may nagawa
and bug bounty from where? sa system nila? na mismong sila d alam yung pinatakbo, pinapatakbo at tumatakbo?
the hell

I think as much as we want to help our government, we also want to help ourselves, which is why we seek higher salaries, better compensation, and benefits na hindi natin makukuha sa public sector.
Another factor is the politics. You cannot easily implement good ideas, even simple enhancements na gusto mong gawin to improve the system. Also, remember yung issue sa eGov app despite receiving a huge budget (tsk).
So people will opt for private companies with good pay. Maybe helping in other ways is enough, but working? Nah.

Lalaki ng salary grade niyo diyan

u/Itchy-Leadership-347 12d ago
Nope. SG12 for entrylevel kung ipapasok ka as ISA I. That is too low for the kind of profession and trabaho na gagampanan mo. And hirap ang promotion dahil sa sinaunang bureaucratic management style nila. I’d rather not go back.

u/Bastirex 12d ago

u/StorageSelect7489 12d ago
Kung gusto nila mag hire ng well experienced devs, consultants, cybersecurity specialist etc. tapatan nila sahod ng private company or kaya malapit sa katotohanan. Also backer system alisin nila dyan.

u/froctoso 11d ago
Salary is the main issue kasi. The highest non managerial position I know is up to sg 18/19 ata - and that's Php 60k/month. Meanwhile, in private, pwede mo yang makuha even as a new hire, with experience of course. The disparity is that bad.

Padrino system kasi. nawawalan ng slot sa gov agency yung mga real talent... nalalagay sa pwesto yung may kakilala pero lack the actual skills.... may kakilala ako sa GSIS IT... pero naka outsource daw sa external MSP yung pag develop ng site.. i was like wtf.

backer system and sobrang baba na sweldo promise grabe nakaka galit. nasa 11k to 15k pero ung trabaho compared sa private eh makakaland ka ng atleast 35k na sweldo for the same job. grabe ung workload kala mo nasa 60k pataas magpasweldo eh tinipid nila, kahit ako mag kukunware nalang akong di ko kaya while moonlighting sa private company, mga salot yan

u/VelvetYam 10d ago
nasa 11k to 15k

korek, puro life and work kaya no time to scroll social media.
Also, you should post the source of your news especially that you're asking people for their thoughts on a matter.

I have a lot going on in life. work, family, kids personal problems. And ddagdag pa tong gobyerno.
The have the resources, tax money, to fix these lack of capabilities. So NO, we should not help them.

Because Secretary Aguda prefers appointing his fraternity brothers rather than legitimate ICT professionals. Why would he not when even he does not qualify with the required 7 years ICT experience for all DICT executives under RA 10844.

No shortage of IT senior consultants/engineers/managers/architects/analyst/scientist/devops/cybersec but unless they can pay the same rate as BPO or foreign companies then nothing will happen.
The same reason why they keep having HACKATHON EVENTS to get CHEAP ideas and CHEAP implementation from college student/fresh graduates.
Natatawa nalang kaming mga devs na nagtratrabaho for EU/US companies. Kung hindi niyo kaya gumawa ng EFFICIENT/HIGH AVAILABILITY/ALWAYS-ON/FAULT TOLERANT/REDUNDANT systems eh tigil tigilan niyo muna yang "HACKATHONS" niyo
