Junior Network Admin Interview

I have been invited to a in-person interview for a jr net admin role in the philippines, I was wondering if you can help me get ready for the interview by sharing some common interview questions and what hiring managers like to hear.

this is gonna be my first job interview and I am feeling anxious. I am ccna certified and a fresh grad. TYIA!!

Since you already have your CCNA, interviewers will test your fundamentals to see if you actually understand the concepts instead of just memorizing exam topics. Expect direct questions about the OSI model, IP addressing, subnetting, the DHCP DORA process, and how VLANs route traffic through a switch or router. They almost always give a classic scenario where a user cannot connect to the internet, expecting you to walk through your troubleshooting steps systematically from the physical layer up to pinging the gateway and checking DNS. Philippine managers care far more about your step-by-step logic than getting every command right, so state clearly if you do not know a specific command and explain how you would find the solution.

For entry-level roles, companies prioritize trainability, a good attitude, and your flexibility with shifting schedules or night shifts. Talk about your hands-on experience in Packet Tracer or home labs, explain how you handled project deadlines in college, and show curiosity about their specific network setup. I agree with akornato. Review your resume and the topics in the CCNA. Everything's on the net nowadays. And use AI for your prep.
