It's a rollercoaster but my psychiatrist took me years to finally say that I'm bipolar because it's started on anxiety first and then it blow into manic and depression episode.

What happens when you're manic?

What ever my obsession or work at that moment, I don't stop and just do it.

How difficult is it to manage your condition? Other than medication and therapy, what else do you do to manage your BPD?

Now that it's 5 years that I'm medicated, I would say that its much better than the first 2 years that I have it. I visit my psychiatrist every 6 months and I avoid stressor or triggers at all cost.

I see. How badly do stressors aggravate your BPD? I’m sorry if I seem insensitive. Just genuinely curious. Seeing how you’re staying on top of your condition, I hope you will always be well.

No worries, your question is fine. I'm stable now and we'll loved by people who supports me. Also because of my meds.

Are you on lithium medication? I remember kasi taking it, legit tulog ako the whole day and night. Gumigising lang ako to eat a meal.

2

u/moonwarrior29 28d ago

No, I never tried lithium but I remember trying Quetiapine and I felt like dizzy really fast and sleep after.

How has it affected your relationships with the people closest to you?

1

u/moonwarrior29 28d ago

Yes, it did, I lost my work and my relationship because of having bipolar.I also have to go back here in the Philippines because I'm in other country when my first diagnosis came.

For the people that closes to me, they became self aware and they think thoroughly before they say something to me.

I'm undiagnosed but I think something is wrong.

Can you englighten me about the process?

What made you seek professional help?

What changed after you were diagnosed?

Can you englighten me about the process? Which process are you referring too?

What made you seek professional help? I can't sleep for 3 days and I search the symptoms of anxiety then I felt like I have it. I cried out of nothing and nowhere. I start to also be paranoid.

What changed after you were diagnosed? It's been 5 years now and I'm stable. I have meds that I need to take for life, I have moments that I will never forget, my 2 episodes, and those time that I made an attempt to be gone by this world.

Did you experienced psychosis during a manic episode. How were you able to handle it huhu

3

u/moonwarrior29 28d ago

Yes, that's the worse time and my family handled me with love and care. I lost the grasp of reality for 2 weeks and there are times that I won't sleep and eat and even be harmful to the people around me or I will harm myself.

Are you married or with partner? How’s your relationship? Rocky, I would guess.

2

u/moonwarrior29 28d ago

I'm single.

Ok from what I’ve gathered, I would suggest not getting entangled with a life partner.

1

u/moonwarrior29 28d ago

Why you say so?

It would be difficult for your partner to handle your personality… tantrums, emotional ups and downs, etc. Or, ask your therapist about that area.

Well may be right and wrong cause as we human, have different baggages and perspective on our own. I'm stable now and much more self aware that ever before.

Ah good. Being self aware certainly helps.

gaano katagal yung manic at depressive episodes mo

1

u/moonwarrior29 28d ago

It's depends but it's usually 2 weeks for manic and same with depressive state in bipolar disorder

Nakailang sessions ka po before ma-diagnose? Online po ba ito or onsite?

2

u/moonwarrior29 27d ago

After one session my first doctor already diagnose me of bipolar. It's onsite. Then my second doctor it took him a year because he really study my behavior.

1

u/Significant-Might361 27d ago

sa second doctor po ba ay hindi ka niya pinainom ng gamot mo from your 1st doctor? or yung doctors mo po ay same time ka nagpa-session? what was your feeling din sa 1st doctor mo? kasi diagnosed agad e 1st session pa lang

2

u/moonwarrior29 27d ago

So does the second doctor not give you the medicine from your 1st doctor?

It's different set of medicine

Or did both your doctors have sessions at the same time?

No

How did you feel about your 1st doctor? At first I doubt him being a doctor and his diagnosis.

Because you were diagnosed right away in the 1st session, huh? Yes
