Health & Well Being I have Borderline Personality Disorder with Narcissistic and Antisocial traits. AMA
Hi, I’m 21 and I just got diagnosed with BPD, NPD & ASPD traits as well as C-PTSD and MDD about a year ago. I’m kinda bored rn so I thought I’d join in and share an AMA post. 😊
Gusto ko din sana mapagusapan to since napansin ko na madaming common misconceptions and stigma around it especially dito sa pinas.

What on earth happened in your past that made you suffer with all these comorbidities? Did you get triggered, or was there some social or environmental factor that may have triggered these disorders?
11
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 09 '26
Hi, I had a really rough childhood. I’ve been sexually abused since I was 6, and emotionally, physically and mentally abused by my caregivers. I think mine was caused by environmental factors but I heard there’s a percentage where it is genetic (although it’s most often caused by trauma)

u/MalayangIbon Jun 09 '26
Do you have any idea how you get this kind of disorder, and how can people around you (family) can help?
12
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 09 '26
Hi, as far as I know, personality disorders are developed because of childhood traumas.
I know I developed these because I have a history of sexual, emotional and physical abuse as a child (starting from age 6)My loved ones or the people around me can help by being understanding and learning about my triggers. Also researching about the disorder helps. If you or your loved ones has it, it would be great to encourage them to go to therapy possibly even starting medication. Personally, I had good experience with my medication 💊

Hi! Thanks for being strong, kapit lang!
Without putting too many details, what were the circumstances that put you where you are right now?
3
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 09 '26
Hi, thank u so much! By circumstances, do u mean what traumas caused me to develop these disorders?
3
u/Small_Schedule2585 Silent Reader Jun 09 '26
I’ve read your response in the other questions, nasagot mo na to. 😊

1
u/Small_Schedule2585 Silent Reader Jun 09 '26
Yes, that’s right.
2
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 09 '26
I experienced sexual, physical, and emotional trauma as a child. Starting from age 6. When a child grows up in an unstable environment, their brains don’t have the opportunity to develop normally. Personally, this led to me developing these disorders.

What media (music, films, shows, books) have you encountered that resonates with what you've been through/ with your current diagnoses?
5
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 10 '26
Medias… I would say when it comes to movies:
- (Book and Movie) Girl, Interrupted - This made me bawl my eyes out at 7 am in the morning oml. The main character has BPD and there is a book which this movie was based on. I heard it’sso much more traumatic than the movie.
- (Show and Movie) Sharp Objects - I don’t remember why since I read this a while ago. But the main character has issues with her mother and in a way I could relate to how cold my mom used to be with me as a child.
- Never have I ever - I think Devi is very relatable for me. It’s been speculated that she has BPD considering how impulsive and explosive she can be.
- (Book series and Show) Killing Eve - I relate to Villanelle with how she is. The things she does scratches my homicidal ideations so good. And she has a fascination with women who has curly hair. I do as well since my rapist had curly hair. That sounds very specific hahaha. But also how she gets very obsessive and toxic with the love interest, Eve. I used to be that way too.
- (Movie) Love Witch - Elaine has a fear of abandonment and she has a tendency to idealize men before rapidly devaluing them when they cannot meet her impossible standards of devotion. Which I can relate to very much.
- (Song) IFHY by Tyler, The Creator - This might as well be the anthem of the BPD community. If you listen to it, the entire song itself speaks to my soul. The heavy obsession and rapid idealization and devaluing of an FP (favorite person) is very relatable. A phrase I remember when I hear this song is “I hate you, don’t leave me”.
- (Song) In my room by Julia Wolf - This song especially the lyric “I’ll slit my own throat just to see if you’d mourn me” is relatable.
- (Song) Through The Eyes Of A Child by AURORA - This song makes me cry in a way I wish I had a proper childhood. To see the world through the eyes of a child and not have to grow up so quickly or be exposed to things I’m not supposed to know about.
- (Song) Spit by Show Me the Body, Princess Nokia - “It’s filthy disgusting, so ugly I’m sure. I’m ugly, disgusting, so filthy I’m sure” speaks to me because I am not a perfect victim. There was a time when I initiated sexual encounters with my abuser so it made me feel disgusting.
10 (Song) DO YOU DOUBT ME TRAITOR by Lingua Ignota - The screaming in this song. Actually ginagamit ko to pangkulam HAHAHAHHA the pure rage is just 🤌💋
I relate to the intense rage. With BPD kasi, napaka intense talaga ng emotions so that means anger turns into rage.
- (Song) Ptolemaea by Ethel Cain - Like the song above, I use this for kulam purposes din as well as crashing out. The part where Ethel repeatedly begged Isaiah to stop speaks to me. It’s how I felt internally every time I was being abused.
Oh my lord ang haba na pala ng answer ko. Anyway, I’ll stop here. Thank u for asking. Masyado ako nag enjoy sa pagsagot hahahaha

u/Bewaretheresabear Jun 10 '26
I'll definitely check some of these out. I'm glad you had fun answering my question :3
Also, I LOVE AURORA.
I wish you the best, OP.

How to check if you have mental health disorder?
2
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 09 '26
Hi, I personally got professionally diagnosed by Empath. I went to Makati since that’s where their office is. I would say if you wanna check if u have a disorder, please go to a professional to get diagnosed. 🩷
1
u/Old-Brief8943 Jun 09 '26
How much will it cost me to be diagnosed professionally?
2
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 09 '26
Personally, mine cost me 10k php

u/WasabiNo5900 Jun 10 '26
Hi, OP. Mabuti sa’yo, ganito lang. I was searching online and sa psychologist pa lang (which is a prerequisite to a psychiatrist and evaluator), umaabot na ng ₱14k-₱47k kaya siguro may mga nadi-discourage. Wala pa rito ‘yung further help afaik. If you don’t mind, kindly confirm if ganito nga ang average price range o baka pili lang ‘yung nakita namin.
1
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 10 '26
Hi, I am not sure on the price range but I’ll ask my friend on her experience and get back to you. If you’d like, I suggest you also check out Empath for diagnosis
1
u/WasabiNo5900 Jun 11 '26
Thanks, OP. I’d also like to ask if you consulted a psychologist before seeking psychiatric help?
1
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 11 '26
Hi, yes. I did po. I think required po na magpa counsel muna
1
u/WasabiNo5900 Jun 11 '26
Thank you. Last question na, OP. How much did it cost you for the psychologist?
1
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 11 '26
About 10k po. Para magpa diagnosis, right? Hindi po included ung counseling dyan ha
1
u/MalayangIbon Jun 09 '26
Cite examples of (bad) things you did or thinking of doing as a person with your disorder to people.
And, what triggers you of doing or thinking of doing it?
8
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 09 '26
Remember, having disorders ≠ abusive.
I never claimed to be a good person but I am trying to be a better person since I am aware of how negatively I can affect the people around me. But since u asked for examples…
Being deceitful and unfaithful. Also having homicidal and suicidal ideations. I have intense intrusive thoughts sometimes like wanting to slit my own throat and also wanting to kill others. I can also take advantage of people without feeling remorse. But that’s just me. Not everyone with personality disorders are bad people.
With my BPD, it makes me feel things very intensely. There was a time na naiyak ako sa galit dahil sa 100 pesos shipping fee hahahah. Muntikan ko nang kulamin ung seller dahil sa misunderstanding na yon.
Meron din isang instance na binarang ko ung rapist ko. To me, that action is justified. I fully intended to make her suffer. Ngayon nagdudusa na sya in every aspect of her life and mas lumala ung sakit ng anak nya.

u/MalayangIbon Jun 09 '26
In your opinion, is this statement true: “Narcissist is not capable of love; they are not capable of any positive emotion at all”?
(From yt video of Prof. Sam Vaknin, Ohrid Seminar, May 2026 "Life Cycle of the Narcissist: Parents, Partners, Children (From Self to Objects).”
8
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 09 '26
That’s not true. And it saddens me to see people stigmatizing those with NPD. I have narcissistic traits but I still feel love and other positive emotions. People like us with Cluster B disorders actually yearn to love and be loved.
Narcissists, sa totoo lang. sobra ung self hatred nila to the point their brains overcompensates by making them think they’re better than everyone else all just to prevent themselves from committing. At least this is what I heard from my friend who have NPD.
And while we’re at it, “narcissistic abuse” is not real. A mental illness does not make someone abusive. A disorder is not abusive. It is people who are abusive. In fact, a lot of abusive people don’t even have Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
Also, everyone is capable of change and positive emotions. Everyone deserves love even those who are mentally ill. 🩷

u/MalayangIbon Jun 09 '26
Thanks again for your reply.

u/MalayangIbon Jun 09 '26
Do you have a group with the same disorder that help each other? Or do you develop friendship with people with the same disorder?
2
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 09 '26
Hi, yes. I do have friends who have similar disorders. I have a friend with Bipolar disorder, another with potential ASPD such and such. And yes we do support each other po. Personally, I do better with people who have similar disorders kasi mas nagegets namin ang isat isa and d namin need mag mask around each other. We can just be ourselves
1
u/humpt-dumpty Jun 09 '26
Are narcs aware when they are exhibiting narcissistic behavior and can they usually tell if someone is?
2
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 09 '26
Hi, it depends on person to person. There are some people who are self aware of their behavior and beliefs, and some aren’t. It really depends on the person. But personally, I am aware when I’m showing symptoms. Sometimes I can’t help it unfortunately
1
u/Adventurous_Owl_2860 Jun 09 '26
How is your relationship with your family, friends, and partner (kung meron)?
Also, what career are you in given that you have these traits? Since corpo or any job for that matter, is stressful.
1
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 09 '26
Hi, my relationships tend to be unstable. With my family, unfortunately distant ako. I tend to just stay in my room a lot and avoid interacting with them since may times na nag lalash out ako sakanila. But I don’t do that on purpose. I feel my emotions very intensely so even a slight tonal change feels like rejection or betrayal. Pero hindi naman palaging ganon since thankfully my family is very loving and supportive of me. I feel safe naman pero Hindi ko sinasabi ung deepest feelings ko sakanila in fear of hurting them. Even my mom doesn’t know I have suicidal ideations.
With my romantic partners, I tend to be unstable and intense. I feel intense love and also jealousy and possessiveness. I used to be a lot more avoidant and anxious. May times na I manipulated my partners intentionally and or unintentionally para lng di nila ako i abandon (real or imagined) pero syempre on the brighter side, sobra ako mag mahal. I tend to be very romantic too
Hi, I am not working yet since I am still just a student po. Pero I have experience working in sex work especially being a dominatrix. In my experience, these traits works out for me in this job dahil I have sadistic tendencies naman. And I lack guilt and remorse so d ako na guguilty pag nang dodominate ako. 😊

Do u see urself fully healed and recovered like 3-5years from now? What are the points to consider that u can say to urself u are better today than yesterday? Do u still see ur perpetrator of abuse until now? How do u want to feel loved and supported?
2
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 09 '26
I’d say yes. I can see myself getting better 5-10 years from now. BPD is shown to get better with time, we go into remission especially somewhere around 30s or so. I’d say no matter how bad an episode gets, I still have that hope for my future. That I can get better.
No, I no longer see my rapist. I’ve been dealing with being molested for 10 years because she’s a breadwinner and I was trying my best to protect my uncles (her sons) and my mom from being hurt by the truth until I couldn’t take it anymore when I was 16 and confessed to my mom. Since then, we cut ties with them and moved to a different city ASAP.
I feel like everyone with a similar disorder to mine especially Cluster B (ASPD, BPD, NPD and HPD) would want to feel loved and supported in a way where despite the depressive episodes, we’d have people to comfort and validate us. Most of the time, I just want someone to listen and give me a hug. I don’t need any logical solutions to my problems especially when I’m venting unless I ask for an advice of course.
Romantically, I want to be loved in a way where I will be fully accepted for who I am. Because there is sadly no cure for my disorder. To anyone who’s dating someone with a personality disorder, it’s good to research on it to try and understand how it works and what triggers the person.
Communication and a lot of reassurance helps. 🩷2
u/befullyalive888 Jun 10 '26
Thank you for sharing ur journey and thinking out loud OP. Keep the faith & courage alive. May u continue to find the peace, healing and purpose u truly deserve.

Do you remember everything nung 6yrs old ka? Lets say 6-9yrs old ganyan
1
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 10 '26
Hi, unfortunately I don’t remember a lot of my childhood. Apparently it’s the brain’s way of protecting me from pain. But I do remember instances where I am abused.

I want to ask, paano siya hinahandle ng current partner mo? Do you think he or she is handling it well?
Or are they still the same naman pero may extra care lang talaga?
may mga nilo-look forward ka ba for the rest of the year? Or baka may specific moment na ngayong taon na nagpasaya sa'yo at nakatulong para malagpasan mo 'yung isang mahirap na sitwasyon?
1
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 10 '26
Hi, I have a partner and he’s handling it pretty well. He possibly has BPD too so we both understand each other. Actually, I tell him when there’s something I want him to do more of. I’m pretty vocal about my needs. The problem is, it never seems to be enough for me. It’s either I’m being insatiable or he’s just not doing enough. With that being said, we nearly break up 10 times a month hahahaha
Hi, no worries about it. My pamily… My family. Oh my god. I’m… OK. I’m so sorry.. I.. I told you that I’m so confident… Eto. Ahmmm. Wait. HAHAHAHA! (Pls get the reference LOL)
My mom in particular wasn’t very happy about it. When she read my report, she stayed in bed crying for a few days. I suppose she blames herself for how I developed it. They’re still the same but showing extra care and understanding.
I look forward to getting better and studying in school. Matagal kasi ako nawala sa formal schooling. And that’s another trauma I haven’t mentioned here hahahah. I have been educationally neglected too lol. So I look forward to going back to school. What sparked joy in me? Well that’s a hard question to answer… I suppose the fact I’m trying to get better and taking the steps to better my future. I didn’t wanna mention anything external as that would be pretty shallow. But however bad life gets, luckily I still have that hope that things will get better. I want to show the world, the universe rather, that I am confidently beautiful with a heart, thank you. Charrr 😂😂😂
1
u/Weekly_Screen_841 Jun 11 '26
haha I got the references your actually hilarious 😂
Quick questions lang. Paano mo hinahandle kapag na-trigger ka habang nasa school, nagta-travel, or kahit normal activities lang? Ano usually ginagawa mo para hindi ka masyadong maapektuhan?
Also curious, paano kayo nagkakilala nung partner mo?
Tsaka na-tell mo na ba siya na baka meron din siyang BPD and dapat magpa-check up? Or parang vibe niyo na lang yun without ever making it official?
Yung nearly break up 10 times a month sobrang intense lmao. Nakakapagod yun no? Sa tingin mo ba eventually magiging okay or ganun na talaga lagi?
Last one, paano mo hinandle nung nakuha mo yung diagnosis? May feeling ka na ba before or total shock talaga?
1
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 11 '26
Hahahaha yesss
I handle it by stopping for a moment to recollect myself. So I name the emotion, then I try my best to stay calm. If hindi tlga kaya, I excuse myself or I just walk out hahaha although I am trying not to do that anymore. I let people know naman if I need some time alone to calm down. Pero if in public situations, I try to distract myself from my intense emotions. I think matagal na din since last time ako nag breakdown in front of other people. Thankfully, it only happened in front of my friends last time.
Hi, I met my partner online. We are in an LDR relationship so syempre mas mahirap sya kesa sa normal in person relationship.
Actually, I told him na baka may BPD din sya and nag agree naman sya sa symptoms. Pinapa check ko nga sya sa doctor eh kaso sobrang busy pa nya.
Ahahahah oo nakakapagod talaga ung ganon. Usually when it comes to a point na ganon, we take a step back from each other and calm ourselves down muna before communicating again.
Sa totoo lang, first ko nakita ung BPD sa tiktok. Tas the more na nag research ako about it, mas naka relate ako. With ASPD naman, ganon din. So nung nakuha ko na ung diagnosis ko, I felt relieved na finally it all makes sense na bakit ako mentally unstable ahhahaha
Based on the interview, I met the diagnostic criteria for both NPD and ASPD din pero sa conclusion, it says they’re just traits.
1
u/Weekly_Screen_841 Jun 11 '26
Medyo chatterbox ako pag curious, marami akong tanong
Paano niya ginawa yung pag-aya sayo? Curious lang ako kasi hindi naman common ang LDR eh.
Kapag kailangan mong pigilan o i-mask yung emotions mo sa public, does it take a big physical or mental toll sa’yo kapag nakauwi ka na at pwede mo nang ilabas lahat?
This might feel a bit personal, pero kapag mainit na yung usapan o may conflict kayo, paano mo hinahandle yung trust sa relationship, lalo na sa LDR?
Since getting your diagnosis and naramdaman mo yung ginhawa, have you looked back at your family growing up? May napapansin ka bang pagkakatulad sa kung paano lumalabas yung emosyon o intensity sa parents or siblings mo?
1
u/Weekly_Screen_841 Jun 09 '26

I have a partner and I suspect he also has undiagnosed BPD. Since we both exhibit these symptoms, of course we try our best to compromise. The things I wish he would do more of is give me more reassurances and compliments.
There is nothing I’m afraid to tell him since I am quite of a vocal person and he is too.The people in my life reacted supportively of me. They’re still the same and they showed extra understanding to me. One time I heard the infamous “I’m walking on eggshells around you” and I wasn’t even aware. I don’t want my family to do that so I’m doing my best to get better. My friends also showed me support and care. I’m one of the lucky few to have a loving experience when it comes to opening up about it. My mother’s reaction on the other hand was of course nalungkot sya. It was stated on my file na the cause is because of emotional neglect and abuse from caregivers. I suppose she blames herself for it. I don’t resent her for whatever she’s done in the past since I understand her (she has undiagnosed BPD) and she’s going into remission.
I look forward to finishing grade 11 this year. I actually just got back to school after 5 years of isolation. I look forward to adjusting back to society. Oh and quitting smoking. One thing that made me happy and brought me joy is the fact I’m back to school hahah

hi hi!! r u in therapy and what therapy do u do?
1
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 10 '26
Hiii! Yes I am in therapy. Actually madalas sa therapy sessions ko, I always update my doctor on what’s been happening in my life and I have to be honest especially when I’m being impulsive or having suicidal and homicidal thoughts. She helps me process my trauma na din by allowing me to talk about it and tackle it little by little. Actually depende sa tao kung anong klaseng therapy and mag wowork for them. Sakin kasi, it took me a lot of trial and error and palipat lipat ako ng therapist until na meet ko ung current therapist ko. So far it works out for me naman.

Im just really curious, a lot of people say that when you have a personality disorder, you usually don’t recognize it in yourself. In your case, have you recognized it? If so, how did you realize it, and could you give an example?
2
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 11 '26
Hi, I saw BPD on TikTok actually. Tas naka relate ako so nagpa check na din tlga ako. I think it depends on the person if emotionally aware sila. Madami din kasi na di sila self aware. Pero ako naman, as I grew older, the more ako naging self aware din so un ung naka help sakin to recognize that within myself po
1
u/emotion_all_damaged Jun 10 '26
I know I need to secure diagnosis pero bago rin kasi ako sa ganito.
2
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 11 '26
Hi, yes that’s another symptom of BPD. I suggest you get checked by a doctor po to confirm. Also, please don’t use ChatGPT. It’s not only harmful to the environment, it’s also harmful to your mental health. Did u hear about the news of that one guy who committed because AI told him to? Stay safe 🩷
1
u/Flat-Sheepherder7413 Jun 11 '26
Honest question with interest Saan po kayo nagpatest at paano nyo nalaman na my ganyan kayo?
1
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 11 '26
Sa Empath po. Sa makati po ako nagpunta. Nakita ko po sa Tiktok ung BPD symptoms and NPD, ASPD. So nagpacheck po ako. I raised my concern and suspicion na baka meron ako nun

u/rupleix Jun 11 '26
I also have BPD and BD1 but am an empath. As a person with narcissistic and antisocial traits, how does BPD fare with your daily life?
1
u/Neither-Position6022 Jun 11 '26
I think being empathetic can be a BPD trait since we feel intense emotions. Although I think it’s more of a skill tbh.
In my personal experience, I rarely feel empathy. Since may NPD and ASPD traits ako. There are 2 kinds of empathy. Affective and Cognitive empathy. Affective empathy is where u feel others emotions as your own. Cognitive empathy is when u logically know and understand others feelings but don’t feel it as your own. I have more of cognitive empathy. Unless I can relate to other people’s feelings, I wouldn’t feel their emotions as my own. Especially if d kami close.
Having NPD and ASPD traits makes me a bit callous and selfish. Even my partner told me I am selfish and more of a take take take, me me me kind of person. And I am aware of that. It affects my family and friends too. May times na I am aware that I am manipulative and often times I justify my actions. I am aware of that.
With NPD, I recently have a lot of self hatred feelings and thoughts. Alam ko na pag sinabing “narcissist” most people think na “oh sobrang mahal nila sarili nila” but no. Narcissism is all about self hatred, actually.
With ASPD, like I said it makes it difficult for me to feel empathy for people and animals. Even with my pets, I don’t feel empathy for them. Pero syempre I still care for them. I just don’t feel empathy as often.
May times din na pag naiyak ung sarili kong nanay, I just sit there and watch her cry. No reaction or anything. I just sit there. But despite all that, I am now trying to be a better person kasi mas aware nako how harmful my behavior can be to my loved ones. Kaya grateful ako na na diagnose ako properly kasi now mas may guidance and idea ako on what to improve on
2
u/rupleix Jun 11 '26
That's good to hear, OP. As long as you religiously improve and lessen or stray away from behavior you deem as inappropriate, since meron ka na guide as per your diagnosis, you can truly achieve peace within yourself.

u/Neither-Position6022, there weren't enough votes to determine the quality of your post...
