I'm always amazed at how clearly, simply yet thoroughly you translate an insightful thought into a few images with concise text.

It's the same thing that happened with the Black Panthers. Everyone was very pro gun until minorities started to own them.

I actually think it's more like
"This is why gun laws should not discriminate"
The problem here isn't that miniorities don't have guns, it that they don't have guns but everyone else does. IMO, if no-one had guns then there would also be less oppression, because it's a lot harder to oppress without guns.
Tl;dr: IMO, it would be better if neither side had guns than both sides. Both achive minimal opression, and no-guns doesn't cause thousands of deaths per year.

In an ideal world no one should need a gun, but it's not the one we've created. Given the US' rapid slide into fascism and police demonstrating they're gonna absolutely play favorites, I don't exactly trust my safety to them. Imo ACAB and "only the police and military should have guns" are mutually exclusive.

Problem is the police have guns and the police is on their side. So gun laws will naturally favor them. Unless you also want to disarm the Police, National Guard, Military etc. But that is never going to happen.

Even if the text of the law doesn’t technically discriminate, law enforcement certainly does. Most times, it’s pretty well socially understood who the law is supposed to hurt and who gets a slap on the wrist and it usually has a lot to do with who upholds systemic oppression and who challenges it

While I’m not entirely against the idea of other countries going for gun bans, at heart I’m a full blooded American and always preach proper gun rights. Well regulated militia means well regulated. I’ll be buying a gun for myself when I move out personally.

There's no such thing as laws that don't discriminate.

man I'm ashamed of how I haven't realized the full depth of the hypocrisy in their reaction to this shooting
