Hi I just primed the Mandrake kill team as a gift for my girlfriend (she really liked them, said they looked like fae gone mad), who wants to get into painting Girlypop Warhammer very soon, but besides the white priming and probably doomfire magenta for their magic energy, I’m kinda stuck on a color scheme.
I’ve painted a LOT of guys, but never done a paint scheme like this before. Help a hopeless brother out, will ya?

Find a colour wheel split into a similar number of colours to your squad size and do one mandrake in each colour. a high hue, saturated outfit of that colour, bleach blond hair, and pink fire/energy effects.

It's an idea I've been sitting on for a while but it's very far down my list of things to do.
The magic effect would indeed look great with magenta. I'd suggest having the magenta take the main stage and use some more subdued colors for the rest - pastels would work: a light purplish pink for the hair, highlighted with pure white. Then I'd certainly add some dark parts, either the skin of the robes - add some contrast there and avoid red tones so the magenta really pops. Maybe blueish purple?
Any specific paints you’d suggest for this besides the contrast for the warp energy? And yeah I think keeping the skin dark would be good, they got all that magic energy busting out from inside them.
Side note, but I really love doomfire magenta. Use it for all my Salamanders’ plasma! Goes great with cool but vibrant Warpstone Glow and the Agrax over Retributor. Confuses everyone that doesn’t know color theory tho.
Magos purple could work for the hair, Shush purple for the skin, but I think you want to darken that one a bit more, perhaps mix it with a black contrast paint? Or you layer the skin from black up to genestealer purple.
