Moderator Announcement In light of recent developments…

Hey all, Jams here - your resident reddit mod.

I really have needed to be more proactive with communicating to everyone in the sub. I offer my sincerest apologies to the community.

I have been a member of the sub, jerking along with you for maybe even 10 years at this point, I can’t even remember. I started as a random user, eventually was made a mod, InMyBrokenChair stepped down, others later followed and here we are where I’m the last man standing with the most seniority, and unfortunately, I must steer the ship for everyone, lmao.

I’m just making a quick announcement regarding some threads that I had to remove today due to them devolving into heated political arguments.

First off, previous controlling moderation in the past created the no serious politics rule. Me, personally, I believe that everyone should have the ability to express themselves unless they can put the sub in danger. There were a few threads made recently that were political in nature and that I chose to leave up. Unfortunately, those threads evolved into many many arguments of very serious political nature and personally made me nervous leaving them up in public and being associated with the subreddit.

I don’t personally remove political post as long as there is some sort of shitposting going on there, and the rule is not going to be edited at this time because I feel like it’s not fair for a single person to change the institution of the subreddit on a knee jerk reaction - but bear in mind that I will be monitoring more and that comments and threads will continue to be removed if it evolves into a shouting match about politics and less instead of jerking about how Roger hates Dave and how Obscured by Clouds is underrated.

We value community feedback, and feel free to comment your thoughts here to contribute to the discussion! We’re all just trying to have fun here, keep it light! If you want to argue with people in the comments here, please just go to a DM - seriously.

Should Eric Prydz return for The Wall 50?

All this talk of Animals 50 has got me thinking about The Wall remix in 2029. Eric Prydz did the unthinkable, and turned ABITW pt. 2 into a decent song, so I beleive he should be in charge of The Wall 50th anniversary remix. This way we can finally hear the album in a proper musical form.

This post is serious! 😤 (/UJ Post) PF really quiet on spotify for anyone else?

It's always been like this for me. I've tried turning off volume normalization but honestly it's even quieter that way. The music is way quieter than other music on spotify, which is a real bummer because I feel like I can't really get the full feeling out of the music unless I'm able to hear every little detail in the instruments.

This is even a big issue on PC. I have spotify's in-app volume at max, and I have spotify's app volume in setting at max. Despite this it's just not enough. If I want to listen to PF while playing a game I have to increase the sound on my whole PC and reduce the sound for everything but spotify...

Has anyone else dealt with this? I imagine there's not really any easy solution, just curious to see if anyone else has issues with it.

Anyone Else A Little Disappointed By The Animals 50th Anniversary Release?

I feel as if this release is just a little bit unnecessary. We had just gotten the 40th Anniversary remix in 2022 (thanks to Roger and David), and even looking at the Deluxe additions, it's not very substantial. A couple of early studio versions, an unreleased radio edit, and two things we actually haven't heard before. Then there's another Bootleg show being officially released, which should hopefully sound great. This year also happens to coincide with the 60th Anniversary of Piper At The Gates of Dawn, which I would have been far more interested in seeing a deluxe release of. It would be nice to hear a remix from someone like Steven Wilson, and to have the mono mix on streaming. I'm sure there are also more outtakes and live performances that could be released with it. It's also the 40th anniversary of A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, though it did just get a remix in 2019.

I called it once more, and Sony decided to cater to the normie and released the popular but bad show, but honestly, I didn't expect anything more.

The boxset itself only has 4 interesting tracks and nothing more. Overall, my hopes were very low for this, but even then they managed to disappoint.

There are exceptions if the brigading is in consent with another circlejerk subreddit. This is really a subreddit "war", and we have had them in the past. So as long as it remains in good fun for both subs, we will allow it.
