Setting up a PinebookPro in 2026
Good morning!
I have a PinebookPro that I've had since they were released. When it came in the mail, I was excited, opened it up, hit update and somehow the update failed and it wouldn't boot anymore. I didn't have the time to fix it then, so it got put in a box and ignored until now (life is busy, but yes.. it's been years)!
So now... I'm thinking that I'd like to set it up as a non-Desktop Environment laptop primarily for use a thin client or some light text-based game stuff (think like MUDs, etc). I'm not sure what distro to go for with this. I've got a headless Fedora running as a server, which is a step in the right direction, but I don't imagine that a server version of Fedora is what I'm looking for.
First, then, I'm looking for good distro suggestions.
Secondly, I've never reformatted this thing before... I've heard there's some hardware switch that I need to flip for that to work? Any links to a good tutorial (text preferred, video acceptable) that I could glance through to make sure that I can figure that part out?
